Hey guys I was just curious what makes a Truggie a Truggie . If I throw on some monster truck tires on my Rc10 Gt is that considerd a truggy or do they have to be 4 wheel drive. I have never really even read to many of the Truggie post so I know nothing about them. I have seen some pics and they look pretty bad arse!!

i was wondering the same, i know you can through some mt tires on a buggy but what really make it?

Longer arms, wider chasis bigger tires, lower CG all around. Just a long, low fast truck. I don't think a modified savage would qualify, But if you threw some longer arms on an RC10GT you would get the effect. I feel like the Jato is a truggie.

Center diff, Buggy like chassis, long wheel base, and so on. Thats just what I thought a truggy should be and might be wrong :D

Yes, i missed the center drive train in my description as well. i also think to qualify as a truggy it needs to be 4 wheel drive. (I know, stupid thing, but an RC10GT isn't 4WD, and I said I would think of it as a truggie when modified.)

center diff/driveline above chassis/truck body
they are now technically called 1/8 scale stadium truck....

Truggy is a 1/8th buggy turned into a MT. Thats how it started, now there are truggy versions of most 1/8th buggys, started with the SUT/Storm series. They are low-slung from being made from a buggy. Now there are built truggies like the HPI Hellfire, that has no direct 1/8 buggy counterpart. But like was said, Maxx sized tires, center diff, truck body. Most races just call them Unlimited Monster Trucks, that way it catches all the truggies and Maxx conversions, and other stuff that makes the class faster than a standard MT.
