well i want to sell my hyper 8 and use the money to modify my jato 2.5....
aftermarket:
2 heavy duty 9kg servos
sh .28 p3 engine
hard-anodized tuned pipe

problems:
engine kinda worned out..its been through 1/2 gallon but i had some sand grains go in by accident...the engine runs well but is kinda hard to start (4-9 pulls) and keeps stalling when its in idle... other thing is the tires aren't glued and the foam for the tires are in space :hehe: (they flew off the tires for some reason)

how much should i sell it for???? what would you pay for it?

Kinda worn out 1/2 gallon engine = engine is toast. Tire foams flew off = unglued tires. Asking what someone would pay for something that has been posted upon as a problem = you won't like the answer. Posting for sale in a general forum = breaking forum rules.

How do you know sand grains got in by accident, if it were in fact an accident? Anyway, sounds like you're selling a very abused roller chassis at best, and judging by your apparent lack of care it isn't going to bring anything here, maybe try craigslist or ebay or somewhere that someone would believe the line you're feeding them.

Also seems like you're trying to bait sales without meeting forum criteria. That's a no-no.

I'm not selling it here or on the internet...I'm gonna sell it to someone who is close by.... ok so what if i fixed the engine...new pistons and all and got some new foams and glued the tires...how much would it cost then?

I would take it to your LHS and get an opinion. It is impossible to do that here. One needs to see the wear and tear to figure out what works and what doesn't.

After all that, and given the market this time of year... $250-275.

I agree with RC Addict as well, you're not giving us any info.

Selling an r/c with an engine that is known to have what may possibly be terminal issues is the same as selling an r/c with no engine.

There is no Kelly's Blue Book for r/c's so the best thing is to simply research the market. Take a gander through the WTB/WTS threads and see what people have to offer and what they are asking for.

I just purchased this from Bryson

https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64147

$300 RTR truck
$150+ estimated in hop-ups/extras
$130 extra engine (slightly used)

retail for all of this is probably very close to $600 and notice the pics... this truck is very very clean.

*edit*

Selling an r/c is not like selling a house. Putting money into it in order to make it more appealing to buyers for sole purpose of sale is a loss only situation. It's better to simply cut the price rather than fix anything, It's just not worth the money.
