i need some help on deciding which plug to use with my fantom fr12. i realize that some plugs are hot and some are cold.
i dont know what kind i need.
i first bought OS A3's because they were cheaper than #8's and i know OS makes good plugs. but i dont know if they are cold or hot.
the two plugs i bought got blown by my old glow ignitor. i have yet to go to the hobby shop to get a new ignitor and plugs. but i think I'm gonna go this week.

i am probably just gonna get A3's again but if someone has a suggestion on another plug i should use that will work better with my fantom, i would appreciate it. oh yeah it would be better if it was relatively cheap. an A3 costs me 5 bucks at the hobby shop so around there would be good. the #8's are 7 dollars so i dont really want to get those.

i run the McCoy 59 plugs and havent ever had any problems with them and run them in all my engines.

you can run a slightly hotter temp in a fantom because they usually run very cool. i was using os 8s and they ran it at like 220s and then i moved up one hotter (dont know the number) and it worked a little better ... its no big deal tho, my fantom runs no matter what

Actually the McCoy #59 is considered a hot plug and works just fine in the Fantom. McCoy also makes a #8 plug that is equivalent to the OS plug of the same designation.

what about the A3's? am i alright with one of those?

The OS A3 is considered a hot plug. This is a good thing. For smaller engines (.12-.15), running hot plugs is the way to go. Check HERE for more information on the OS plugs.

alright sweet. thats all i wanted to know. thanks.
