Ok here it is I have a trx 3.3 that runs on 20% top fuel and a mc-59 plug in my revo and I have a siro .30 on the way for my savvy. What % fuel can I use to make both mills happy at the same time? I think I know that for BB mills you need a higher % fuel and a cooler plug. For SB mills you need a lower % fuel and a hotter plug. I am thinking I could go with maybe 25% fuel and use a warm plug in the trx and then I draw a blank!!! I really don't want to use 2 diff fuels just 2 diff plugs would be nice. Any input would be grate thankx for your time!

I'm running 20% Trinity monsterbrew with r-5 medium plug in my Axial .32 ,Sirio .27's and also all my other 3.3 with OS8 gp and .18/.15 engines with hot plugs and I've had no tuning , abnormally high heat or power issues at all in the larger engines...I run the same Trinity Mb 20% in my .32 Mutillator too and thats what % OFNA recommends it be run on...The higher the %age the cooler the engine will run and give maximum power output,-but that cooler running comes at a costly price to pick-up a little extra power and thats engines that wear quicker plus are more likely to develop alot of piston scratches prematurely killing the engine....The only time I run fuel higher than 20% is when an engine has poor compression and is on its last legs in order to get a little extra running time out of it before replacing.....

Dont remember on my Traxxas 2.5, but always ran OD99 pulgs on my big blocks.

The 3.3 loves 30% fuel. So will the Sirio. Stick with the Hot plugs in the 3.3 and run a med. cool plug in the sirio.

Sidewinder 30% is great fuel and both your engines will do fine on it.

Although I wouldn't be using Traxxas crap as fuel in the first place.

Y whats so bad about top fuel?? Never gave me a prob and I hear that trx mills run better on it!

Top fuel has a very high percentage of oil, which is mostly cheap synthetics and not caster. The synthetic oil burns much quicker than the caster providing less lubrication and cooling properties, hence the need for more oil. The oil also calls for a very lean carb setting, but since the oil is synthetic it causes your engine to overheat quickly, and the massive amounts of synthetic oil gumms your engine up. For nearly the same price, you could get a quality fuel like Byrons, O'Donnell, Cold Fusion, or Werks. You'll notice that there are nearly no pros that run Traxxas junk.

I like my top fuel thankx tho! Its not junk by all means! I think top fuel is grate to bash around with out worring if your getting enough lube or not.

Look, it's not going break your engine or anything, all fuels are OK, but Top Fuel is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum, just ask any pro. In other words, you may like it but your engine does not. Try Cold Fusion or a Werks blend and then see which fuel is better.

You brought up some valid points in your previous post about oil percentage & composition and how it can affect performance but bear in mind that some mill types do better with blends of that nature. Like you say, almost all fuels are OK but there are some that perform better depending on your mill/plug setup.

I've recently switched away from O'Donnell to Torco 30% . I find the Torco runs cooler and is a more "flexible" blend. By flexible I mean that with the right plugs, it works awesome in several mills, both SB and BB (V-Spec, AE .28, SH .28, OS .18, HPI .12, HPI .28). With prior fuels I tried (Byron's, Blue Thunder, even Traxxas when I was a noob) there was always one end of the mill SB/BB spectrum that wasn't quite as good performance-wise in my experience. With the Torco I no longer have to juggle fuel types depending on which rig I want to run.

I agree, but as a generally Traxxas fuel is, like I said, on the lower end of the spectrum. The RC engine has subtle similarities to the human body. Everyone needs a different diet to keep themselves healthy, because everyone's body is different, just as many engines are designed differently. However it is still possible to make general statements regarding our health just as we can make statements regarding the health of the engine.

For instance, it would be fair to say a McDonalds Big Mac is, as a general rule, unhealthy. The same applies to Traxxas fuel. While many engines operate differently I can say with confidence that with a little research and testing, you will most likely find a fuel that will serve you better than Traxxas.

All he has is trinity monster and TQ? I have like 3/4s of a gal of monster its half 30 and half 20 I got it from a friend but I am scared to use it cause I think it messed up two mill already? Dono think the 30 was old and the 20 was no better! Any input on a glow plug for the .30 I think I want to run 25% in it. Edit... Anyone know how to brake in a sirio .30????
