My friend asked me to paint a body for him.
He asked for a race paint layout (light in the front, dark in the rear).
He also suggested the colors, and where to put what color.
I showed hime the layout that I was going to free hand, and he even changed the part that goes over the roof. I had it a little different.
But it's his lid, I'll let him do as he pleases.
So. I paint the body up last night, and he didn't like it.
Reguardless, I thought it came out fine.
I put stickers on it and decided to keep it.
I figured that I would let you guy's be the judge.

I think it's real nice......except for the part that goes over the roof, and that was HIS idea. He should have left the design to you. Beautiful shading at the color edges.

Color combo???
I sent him an Email, and he said that he didn't know what he was thinking when he gave me the colors.
I think it looks fine.

I had the roof reacting to the lines on the hood. He thought it was too much.
You know what I mean?

I like it. I think your idea would have been better, but as it is i'd use it. It'd be an eye catcher at any track.

Skittles.. Taste the rainbow..
I dont care for the color scheme myself, but you did an awesome job painting that thing... The front color fade looks perfect from what I can see, and the transistion to purple in the back looks great.. PROPS Nitzo...

With cars that will be on a track as opposed to cars that bash.
Or even guys going for a more realistic look.
The cars should be light in the front and dark in the rear, so you can have a better perseption of which direction the car is heading on the track.
If you go to a track and watch a nitro race, it will look like the inside of a gumball machine.

This was a bit much as far as color schemes go.
I had the front white fading to yellow to orange tips. Upper hood and roof like a wine or even a metalic or candy blue color.
The roof lines similar to the hood but just accepting the lines.(I hope you know what I mean).
Then the trunk a darker wine color or darker candy blue.
I feel that the yellow and orange would have looked better on wine or candy blue.
Thats the colors I had down to do this.

Turned out very well. I would've chosen a different color scheme but hey, if he likes the fruity look then so be it since it's his lid.

For a race body it would work well. Really visible. My only critique is less green, more yellow over the roof and I'm not a huge fan of the purple on the back. Seems just a little out of place. But as far as the technical aspect, I think you did a great job. Fades look great. Shading looks awesome. Just some "different" colors.

man i wish i could paint like that, (bastard) LOL, nice work crap colours, i like the fron half of the car back to where it changes to a rainbow, the back looks like it was dipped in un mixed paint, not meaning your work of course, how much u going to charge me for on line lessons LOL

The back looks like that because I used spazsticks color flip paint as a base.
I don't think the pearl purple was dark enough to see the flip.
My mistake there.

I think that since it's now mine, that I will strip it, and paint it with the colors and design that "I" wanted.

actualy when i looked at the back the first thing i said was "o hee's got a color shift" i have the eye of the painter LOL! may i ask what methods you use of stripping the paint off?
