Didn't mean to start a war here.

I just feel that the Probe , be it whatever model is great start to understand a motor.

Skyline , let me see what I can find here. You don't mind a blown motor? I will try to avoid that as much as possible.

Maxx Trooper, whatever is said just know that everyone has an opinion. 4U2NV has the right to explain his opinion as do you. I know that my Probe has attained speeds over 160Mph. fun but dangerous. too risky to do on public roads. GO to a track and see what your labor has done for your car. I know you will find plenty for it.

Good luck !!

Jon

forget a track, a nice straight paved back road works good. "Go as fast as possible, road conditions permitting." so if u got grandma that can't see over the wheel, blow her doors off. lol

Car is coming along. Like the background better though.

Doing it there can be dangerous as well as if you are alone and something happens it can be hard for someone to notice you are hurt or for you to walk to get help...

NO DON"T DO IT!!! its not a chip but a resistor you can get at Radio shck to reduce the resistance and the sensor.

yea thats what i thought, it looked a like a resistor and thats what some of the feedbacks said. So all that resistor does is open up the air flow?

later

Yup I bought something similar for 18 bux just to find that out. LOL. I forgot how I was supposed to mount it but if you find out what calue resistor then I will send you a grip of them .. Just let me know. Not the best mod though and no gaurantees that it will work. The way it works is that by putting the resistor on the sensor it is placed in parallel so that decreases the resistance value so it increases the amount of air to flow.

How do u know that it can't be modified? Have u owned one? there are a lot of aftermarket parts for the probe. F*** the eclipse there are so many of those stupid cars around, the only reason why they are popular is because of the Fast and the Furious. A V8 in this car is overkill, its F***in stupid. A V6 2.5 Probe has enough power to get u up to 160mph, stock, which i good enough for me. My probe is a 4 and i have gotten it clocked at 126mph and the speedometer goes to 120mph. Also its a 1993 and its stock so getting it up to that I'm happy with. I want something different that u dont see 50 of when ur drivin around. Unless u got statistics to back up what ur saying, i dont wanna hear that "get more power than a probe ever could".

U probly dont even have a car, and if u do its probly some S***box. I'm pissin in ur Kool aid.

Dont be a Bitch here. I toldya right off the bat to not take it as a insult, but you obviously have. Like I said before, from the way it sounds on your plans to your car, all I meant was there are ALOT more cars youd benifit more from with them parts than on a probe. I wasn't dissing you or your car or anything just stating facts. There is a good point to a probe though and thats that the parts are pretty much universla with Mazda, so you could get a good T3 mx6 turbo, but to me IN MY OPINION, thats about it.

And honestly I dont think you really want to get into it with the cars I have and what some of the ponies I'm pulling, cuz I will pull out time slips and dyno charts for days and make your ears bleed. I've had 2 different vehicles in the 10's and 1 TRUCK in the 9's. And I'm currently driving a 11.1 daily driver ("Shitbox"). So if ya want to go that route, then lets go ahead. But again I didnt mean it as a diss or any dissrespect, just kinda pointing out the facts to ya. If you would like to discuss is more feel free to come into my Auto club's (That I'm admin and co-founder of) webapage and discuss it a bit.

I do see your point on the parts availablity of the probe compared to the many other imports available. You may have had good intentions but your wording was a little unclear and could have easily been mistaken as a discouragement. In the end I think that we are all in it for the love or interest in these cars. Both RC and REAL cars.Maxx trooper is just excited to get into a car for a damn cheap price. I would have been psyched if I ran into a similar deal.

Everyone has experience to show and 4U2NV can probably help a lot in this case.

I say lets just squash this and help each other out.

Jon

Me and Maxx have always been cool. I didnt mean it as a diss at all and he got a hella steal for 100 bucks on the car. All I was sayin was he can drop a grand into this car on mods and bolt ons and its gonna be a faster of course, but if you were to take another car and drop a grand into it, it could go alot faster. But thats gonna happen with nomatter what car ya decide to mod up. And for the stuff he described on wanting to do, a probe just didnt seem the type of car to do it to. I'm sure someone in here can vouch for that. Its kinda like putting a aluminum wing on a 84' Lesabre, or a 4 cylinder in a Chevelle. Just didnt seem to line up for me. anyway...

Whats the point of buying a new car, and stick some cash in it to go faster when u already get a car with $$ invested in it. i just dont c the point. plus if i was to do it, i probly wouldnt get much for the Ford, compared to what i put in it, its always like that, even R/C's.

I don't like to get other people project unless it was just a damn good conversion kit like the 3rd Gen USDM Integra with a JDM front clip and the engine is bone stock. I like to tune the engine myself so I don' have to guess what the previous buyer attempted to do and may have messed it up. I know the B18b and the B18C so I stick to what I know the B16A and B are just too small and not enough torque for me.

Fixing up a car you like is always fun . Its a challenge just like getting the head dialed in on a Big Block 350 and then mate it with the right Tranny types. Then you have to worry about the rear Gear box and its gearing....sounds familiar? RC's? Well I feel that enjoying your hard work come to life when you flip the ignition button ( See these on H S2000's ) and hear the engine live!!!

Just had to say it. Wrench your own ride if you can or learn how!!

Jon

You wanna talk about nightmares from buying other peoples porjects!! LOL My car was a total mess when I got it.It wouldn't even idle let alone go into boost without breaking up and dumping an assload of fuel out the exhaust.I finally got it running smooth now and picked up 2 more seconds in the quarter than the previous owner ever did and all I did was fix what he screwed up.The thing I couldn't figure out was what he did to it??? It was pretty much bone stock with a boost controller when I got it.This kid had vacuum lines hanging not plugged off he had tons of things not hooked that should have been and plugs in the wrong place. It was a mess! All I did was fix it, hack the mass, and add a fuel pump and my best run so far was a 13.9@102mph. This winter I/m building a forged 2.3 liter stroker motor and I'm gonna mount up a big as turbo too!!

Yeah the skylines are suppose to be here in 2007-2008 and starting out at 35k from what I heard. There pretty kick ass...

Nitrous always does the job but is hell on your engine in the lomg run. I opted to go Naturally aspirated or turbo....when the time comes. NOS chenges the characteristics of your engine. Your engine is never the same after using it. Kinds turns iot into a NOS fiend. Runs crappy without it. IMO of course. No personal exp. Just helped work on the engines that had em.

As far as the electric supercharger.... sounds like a gimmick again. go the real route and get a supercharger that increases the air to your intake via "hairdryer".

Both of those items look like gimmicks. I've never seen a Nitrous kit like that before nor would I pay only $40 for it. It looks like C02 canisters and a hand help "ignition" button. I wouldn't recommend either one of those items. They will probably blow up your engine and make little to no difference in performance. If you really wanna go with the squeeze stick to the name brand stuff NOS, Nitrous Express, Venom, or something along those lines. Just be careful with Nitrous though. I've seen many engines go boom due to mis-use and improper fuel mixture. Nitrous is safe as long as you don't hit the button every 2 seconds and get enough fuel so you don't lean out the engine.A buddy of mine wired his up for WOT and one day he missed 3rd and hit rev limiter 5 times. This shot of the NOS 5 times in a row and blew his motor. The funny part was that he took everything off of it and took it to Honda. They gave him a brand new engine under warranty because they said something got sucked up into his intake!! LOL!!!!

Check out this quick little paint job i did to my car after fixing some rust on the rear hatch and deciding to paint the spoiler. A little bit of color changin paint, i think it came out pretty good. what do u guys think?
