i am pretty new to nitro got one christmas 2003 and i hear about engine rebuilding? like what does ur engine just go for crap at one time or wat? and if it does happen what do i have to do to Rebuild? thanx

When u rebuild a engine it means u completly take it apart and clean everything then u replace broken or worn parts like bearings or your piston and sleeve

Rebuild is retriving lost compression. Overtime from natarul werer your engine sleeve will slowly expand causing you to loose compression. A rebuild is putting in a new piston and sleeve. On top of that cleaning it and making it look perty and perform perty. Keep in mine you only have to do this once every 4-10 given the engine is tuned correctly...

what pierow is saying is it will probily need to be rebuilt after about 4 -10 gallons depending on how you take care of yor engine ....you will need to rebuild when you notice a substansial loss in power or it gets hard to start ...instead of rebuilding you can also buy a new engine I'm not sure what engine you have now but the os brand line of engines are priced very low and will outperform most stock engines

In a lot of cases, by the time you buy a piston/sleeve, a new con-rod, replace a bearing, replace a one-way, your at the cost of a new engine.

I guess it depends on the engine as to whether or not I'd do it again. I did it once, but I didn't know to change the con-rod as it was pretty worn and you could feel a clunk at the top and bottom of the stroke. Then it ran like crap anyway, but it had lots of compression!

Then again, I haven't spent over $160 on a new engine. I'm sure if you drop $300-$500 on a kick ass engine, rebuilding it may be more cost effective.

thanx guys. i have the stock mgt engine, i think its the TT .21 and its great. but ithink if it goes i will rebuild it but get a bigger engine in its place. (maybe thinking the werks collari .30)

Probably a good choice. There are so many choices now that its hard to decide. There is the picco .26/.27, the wasp .26/.28, the sirio .27s/.27p/.27r/.30, the werks collari .30.... tons of .21s. The list is huge, and still growing!!!!!
