So i was thinkin about geting a mamba set up or maby a tenkin. What do you guys prefer and are they good for the money or are motors like the baja better just for messing around. And for the castle creations one is it pretty easy to do on you computer this is kinda steering me twards geting the tenkin one not shure yet though. Thanks alot, Bryson

Depends on what you mean by messing around.
A BL will put you into another world. You wont go wrong with either of the units you mentioned. Tekin is great for in the field programing and mamba offers programing using a computer but can be confusing without one.

You will need to upgrade the drive train and steering if you go BL.

The Castle and Tekin motors are the same. The esc's are not. Tekin is very is smoother but will only ajust to its preset settings. the Casltle is through usb or presets. Both will haul a$$. I've had a couple of brushed motors but there's no way to compare the two.

hope this isn't too late, i would either recommend the castle creations one or the Quark 22/33A Esc's, i used to have the Mamba25 brushless ESC until it retired on me, decided i would try something different and went with the Quark Pro Car ESC, its really amazing i am getting much smoother throttle response then i used to get with the mamba ESC, it has detailed settings although does not include any USB Program "yet"! its settings are similar to the Mamba ESC, might be a little complicated because of its detailed selections, but i was able to set it to my specifications on my first try.

I have a Mamba setup coming soon. I also have the Tekin setup installed in my RC18T at the moment. I will soon be able to compare the two and give my opinion.

Sweet I'm still up in the air about brushless because I'm worried that normal bateries wont bring out the full performance of it. I was really concidering the Reedy 17 turn. It saposibaly uses stock speed controll pretty well. I'm not set on anything yet.

Well I can tell you a brusheless setup with stock battery's does make a big difference. I had a mamba setup on my mini lst and boy did it make a difference from the stock motors, even with the stock battery's it doubled it's speed. Now if you put lipo's plus a brushless setup you will need to fo a lot more to the vehicle. You will need to setup your diffs to make sure it can handle the power of the motor and lipo setup.

Castle all the way. I like mine alot! You can run brushless with NIMH or LIPO. You will not get the maximum performance until you go LIPO, but when your budget allows you can upgrade. You can get a good lipo pack for it for around $40

Only 40$ WTF!!!! The freakin reedy batery pack that i was going to get today is 42$ . Shoot i guess I'm just going to stick with my reedy mini max and when my birthday rolls around ill pick up the whole shabang. Thanks for your time
