Another question about batteries, what this guy must be new or something. Anyway as i said in my last post i have a traxxas slash on order and i am looking into what battery to get. The hobby shop that I go to only has Venom batteries, I was looking at the 5000mAh, does anyone have any experience with this battery truck combo? is it any good? or should i go with a cheaper smaller battery? Comments or suggestions much appreciated.

Right now I am running a 3600 6 cell in my Slash. Granted it is not as fast as if I had a 7 cell but my LHS is swearing by this battery so far and so I am running that.

As for the 5000mAh, I have not been in the R/C stuff that long myself so I cannot tell you how that works for that one.

Yeah Maxamps rocks, you can also check out cheapbatterypacks.com but I think maxamps do a much better job with customer service

This will be my first larger scale rc so for now i think i will keep it stock, will probably run with 6 cells for now, once i get all the lingo down and play around with the truck a bit then i will get 7 cells, heard that 7 cells can wear down the motor quicker. Will a Lipo work with the 12T motor, or do you have to upgrade?

lipo batteries will work with a brushed or brushless motor.. and being that you are new to this kind of speed and power a 6 cell battery will do you just fine...

I have two venom batteries and i dont think there worth a darn, i have a 6 cell 3000 and a 7 cell 8.4v 5000, not very good!
