ok i found a e-maxx for my project. I've had some electric rigs befor but nothing i really messed with alot.

i want to get some batterys, just two for now and maby some others later.

i dont want to spend a whole bunch on them, I'm not gonna be racing. mostly slow driving, kind of like a crawler. more power instead of speed. i want them to last a good while. all stock electronics with an addition of a couple of servos soon.

i know i want nimh, i was thinking maby 3500mah or so. i see them with like 4 packs for 50$ or so on fleabay.

whats up with the 8.4v or whatever, with the extra cell?

any help would be great! also links would help!

:goodpost:

The extra cell will add more voltage. Volts = power
If your not choosy about getting matched cells there are some great bargains on e-bay. If you just bashing around, they should be just fine. The higher the mHa number the longer the battery will last between charges. Go for the highest mAh you can afford.

I have not used the stick packs yet, but I have used their AAA,AA, and rx packs with no problems. I'm looking to get a EMaxx myself, and will pick up a couple of these packs whenever I get it. Also, if you can still find a Radio Shack that still has them, they sold GP 3300 packs for about $25. Good price for a quality pack. They have since replaced them with a "black label" pack that I dont think are GP cells.

thanks for the info guys, redneck that link says there matched cells, if so thats a pretty good price, eddy i checked your sight, but you only have two packs, do you have anything that would work for what i want? wasn't someone on here making packs? I'm gonna keep looking. whats a good mah to shoot for? i see 3500 then i see stuff with like 4700. i know it makes them last longer on a charge, but also makes them more expensive. i guess i want to know whats the best balance between mah and $$. is there a price jump in there anywere?

Try anything over 3000 mAh. That should give you plenty of run time.

The lowest I would run would be 3300mahs. You can actually find pretty good deals on sticks as high as 4200mah if you don't care about matched packs. Heck, even the Lipos are starting to come down a little. You may check out some side by side packs also. My son's Emaxx is hard on the packs wiring in the stock location. As for extra cells, I'm not sure if it was the ESC or the cells but I had bad luck with a set.
