That's about as hot as you want to get them. Nicd's can handle heat a little better than nimh's. But I believe they have to be charged at lower amps. Your using a peak charger, right?

Yeah I don't know what amps to charge it at though and dont wanna start a fire

Anybody know what a safe amperage to charge this thing would be?

Thanks for all your help and input guys I appreciate it indeed!

OT - I have juggalo hatred for those who don't make anything for themselves & just sit around, drink, toke, smoke and have no aspects of life. Other than that, I don't mind them at all :) - OT

Charge them at 2 amps. You should be safe there. It should take around 2 hours to charge that pack at 2 amps. If the battery stays fairly cool, you could jump up to 2.5 or 3. What amperage did you charge it at the first time?

I did it at 4.4 but charged at 3.0, the 2nd time I did auto and it did 3.0 as well. The 2nd time charging the pack stayed ALOT cooler than the first charge.

I charge my NiMH packs at 3a, any higher and your gaining a little bit of performance for a large decrease in battery life. I wouldn't charge NiCD's at more than 3a.
