The button that turns the esc on and off is also the button that puts the esc in program mode....If you press and hold the button you can put the esc in program mode. That video Woodie posted is about as good as it gets for programming that esc, be sure to set the radio up like they show or it won't program.
About lipo: If you do decide to try lipo you will also need some type of voltage monitor because that esc does not have a built in low voltage cut of. When looking at chargers keep in mind that you will also need a balancer...Thats one of the cool things about the charger Woodie suggested, it comes with a charge/balance feature and charges just about any type of battery!
