Thankful for Gods' grace, and my Wife. Thankful that I am not growing up, during this time. Thankful for the opportunities that I've had. Happy New Year!

Look at the positive...overcoming adversity builds strength and character. Gratitude will give you a perspective toward success. I've never met anyone who had a perfect, Beaver Clever childhood. I think I surprised a lot of folks who may have thought I'd never amount to much, given my teenage through mid twenties behavior.

Maybe if you gave him some Assurance you weren't being a meany, he may take the suggestion without too much hostility. But that Depends on you being Always Discreet in the open discussions here as to not emBareAss him too much
