What are the best ESC replacements for the Taxxas Max V1

My stock Traxxas Maxx v1 esc just quit and I was wondering what the best replacements would be.
I have found a few options for you they are:
1. Hobby wing Max 10 4s ESC
2. Castle Creations Copperhead 10 4s ESC

Also there are a few more hobby wing ESC/Motor combos if you interested

Thank you for the new options, I will definitely look into those.

Do either of these fit the stock motor connectors on the Maxx?

I have the hobbywing max10 sct 4s in my rustler. Even though it can do 4s I really won't run it on 4s. Also those are more for 1/10 cars. Traxxas says the maxx is 1/10 but I think it's actually 1/8 or if 1/9 is a scale. For hobbywing I would look at the max8 combos.

Pulling up this old thread for a generic question.

Do i need to replace the esc and motor together as a package or am I able to put in a new esc in my V1 with stock motor/esc combo?

Motors and ESC's are compatible (brushless motor and brushless ESC, or brushed motor and brushed ESC). Just make sure you're not going beyond the limits with either component by pushing the other one to its limit.
