I SUCKED! This is the first time I have been to a track in 2 years and I totally sucked but was still better than a lot of other novices so its ok. The track I go to has just redone their track and it seems the only guys getting traction were the 1/8 scales with 4 wheel drive . the surface was basically a real slick, bumpy wet dirt and I tried running bowties, gladiators and finally step pins and kept the pins since they did the best but I would still do a 360 with my GT every time I blipped the throttle and my CV-hyper has NO COMPRESSION! I am in real trouble when my .12 CV-R comes in. Anyway I just got home and am dead tired but figured I would share the news.

A bad day of racing is better than a good day of not.

Try to loosen you slipper next time. Its weird to drive but it helps.

I woulsnt say it was a bad day, hell, I had fun! Actually my slipper was so loose at one point that I lost the nut and spring and had to buy another. I think the track was just so so "new" that it needed to be ragged on a lil bit in order to break it in.

Like I always say man its faster to roll over a few jumps then to wait for someone to flip you off your lid. When I started I just rolled a round nice and consistent and I always did 3rd or better from just cruising. X

if your radio has thortle expo you can set it so it gradulay gives it throttle

Lason I want to see some pics of that ae with out the shell on it. Also did you add anything to it other than the charging setup? X

Hey X, I dont have any pics of theGT w/o the lid yet.I will have some later this week when my CV-R comes in. Since getting the truck I have added the Team Oroin Rx pack, RPM reciever box, RPM body mounts, and my JR XS3 radio. I just pulled out the cv-hyper that was in because it has lost all its compression and the leaky front bearing made a mess all over my chassis, and I bent a rear hinge pin so as of right now my truck is in no form for pictures, lol.

Maxx2.5, I dont know if my radio has throttle expo but I was leaning on the throttle very easily and everytime I would get right about to 3/4 throttle it would just break the tires loose and get very squirlley. I used X's theory of driving most of the day and just "cruised" around the track making sure to keep my truck off its lid.

Hey what do you think of that radio. Backspur bought one a couple weeks ago but hasn't been able to run it yet. I just sold my Lynx 3d on ebay and I am thinking about that same radio. Or a futaba but they are a lot more cash. He told me today that the Brake dosen't have a lot of throw whats your opinion?? X

Well no the brake doesn't have alot of throw whatsoever but I set my brake endpoint to full max and set my brake deadband to about 50% so when I just tap the brake the brake goes to 50%. I really like that feature because everyone knows the brakes on the GT suck! All in all I love my new radio and I got a good deal at one of the LHS around here, $199. I really didnt care about the servos because I already had my own but the steering servo that comes with this thing flat ROCKS! These are the first JR servos I have used and I love them. The steering servo has 85 oz. of tourqe yet has no problems centering back unlike my Hitec servo that was in there. I have had one other JR (XR2) about 3 years ago and it was cool but nothing can beat having a synth radio. Once again I am totally happy with my radio, it has all things I want, with the exception of ABS and a built in failsafe.

that radio has throttle and steering expo. try setting it to 20% and see what it does. it should help curve the thottle to keep the tires from breaking loose since you are getting the new motor. i use it on my electric when my track has no traction and it hepls alot

Yeah I found the expo, I'll try that next time I go out.

I have the traxas 2.5 and am a beginner at this hobby.... What is the expo and what does it do??

expo controls the curve of the servo travel. with 0% the curve looks like this ---> / its basicly a straight line. when you add expo it "curves" this line and gradualy aplies travel till it hits the straight part of the curve. the higher % the more "curve" the servo travel will have.
