i have a problem some help

i manged to land my hpi bullet upside down in a large pool of water and the air filter had a drink. I dried it out but now when i get it running it cuts out below 1/2 throttle and sounds like crap when its running

have i killed the engine???

or is there some thing i can do:

The first thing you need to do is take out the glow plug and let the engine sit for a day if you don't want to take the head off to dry it out. Spin the engine occasionally with ARO in the cylinder. Put in a new glow plug and start it and let it run through an entire tank. Refuel, and retune if necessary.

i had taken the head off to lo let it dry out it got its dunk on saturday and i just rebuild it today and tired it

should i try cleaning out the carb

The first thing you need to do is put in a new glow plug and see what happens. If you still have the same problem, the carb is next.

I'm assuming you cleaned and dried the air filter? Those little buggers hold a lot of water. May still be saturated at the core if you didn't take it off and wring it out by hand.

yip i dried it out just going to try the glow plug again i am sure it was a new but i i ve got another fresh one i will try in morning gmt 05.15 just now

Tried a new glow plug but now it dies the second I take the ignitor off what's the next thing to try if it cleaning the carb what's the best stuff for the job

That's a sure sign of the LSN being too rich. Leave the ignitor on and start leaning it slightly till it will run after removing it.

update I've leaned it out as far as it can go but still on luck anything else i can try

Leave the ignitor on and let it idle till it reaches full temp. Stop it if it gets to 300. When it's at 250 or better, pinch the fuel line tightly, close to the carb, and count how many seconds it takes to speed up and then stall.

Got it to about 4sec but when when I pulse it two full power it stalls when I richen the hsn it stalls quicker and when I lean it takes a bit longer (it seam to be spiting out a lot of oil and very little smoke which makes me think it's a bit rich at the high end) and that's it leaned right out

2 different needles, 2 different results. The LSN is just that; the Low Speed Needle. That determines the smooth idle and the punch off the line. The HSN is for high speed running. Don't make any adjustments till the engine is at temp.

the low end is stable and smooth as i incress the power its when it hits the high end it stalls with the hsn set rich it dies the sec it hits the high speed end of the scale with it lean it stall but just not as early on in the high speed end of the scale i think there to much fuel get in at high speed and thats with the needle screwed right in

it didn't make any differnce two rich and it will not start and lean as it goes it runs but still runs to rich and stall when its gets to the hs end i think the cab is f**ked
