Ok I went out jumping today like right after it sprinkled, and the ground was like mud. But i kinda also got water like all over the car and i was wondering..............I have a Losi XXX-nt and i was wondering if there is anything i need to do [like tear the tranny apart] Cause i don't want to screw up the tranny. And also is the tranny sealed

No, it isn't sealed. But, if you didn't drive in puddles that were over the chassis plate, you should be fine. I drove mine into a puddle on accident. It was just deep enough to submerge everything but the air filter... thank god! Luckily, I had ballooned everything a few weeks before.

You should be fine, but no, the tranny isn't sealed and the JR servo's are easy to get water into if you don't have them ballooned. I toasted 2 steering servo's and 1 throttle servo on my nt when I had it.

Ok one more thing

Balooning What do i do just get a baloon and do what

.... your one of those guys ...

:jk:

Get some 8 inch party balloons, stretch them a bit to work the rubber so it doesn't tear so easy on you. Pull the servo's out so you can get at them. Stretch the balloon over the servo so that the wire is coming out the mouth of the balloon. Roll back the neck of the balloon a little, put a dab of silicone, roll the neck over the dab, put a couple little zip ties so you create a small bubble of silicone inside the neck of the balloon to make a seal.

Then, take a pin, poke a pin hole over the servo out shaft in the balloon. Stretch the pinhole over the shaft, put on servo horn.

To take up the extra slack in the balloon, I wrap electrical tape all over the thing, kind of like shrink wrap.

Here's a couple pics of balloon'd parts:

Servo in a balloon (not one of my cleaner works of art):

Homeade 5 aa cell nimh pack in a balloon and tape (a little cleaner job than the servo):

Olds97 lss Do you even know how much you have helped me the last few days.....
I almost feel like mailing you a check for like 50 bucks cause you have practicaly worked on my car these few days..... Thanks a million

Jk about the moneys part though

one last question? kida a stupid one though i should probably baloon the recive too...

Yep. I did. If I hadn't, the puddle that almost filled my engine would have probably toasted it. The only problem with ballooning the receiver is that you have to attach it differently. After ballooning it, I used a long ziptie to go behind the center chassis brace that it's currently doubleside taped too, then just sinched the ziptie down over the reciever and put the cover over it. Ran many a gallon through it that way.

As for the help, you just happen to have run through a lot of the same problems I have over the past few years. The xxx-nt was my first rc (other than a few tyco and radio shacks as a kid). I spent many a hour rebuilding that thing from the ground up. I could pretty much rebuild the thing in the dark. Although, I don't have it anymore... traded it off for another maxx a few months back.

Since all I can scrounge up the money for lately is parts, I can't donate. So the least I can try to do is help someone out.

thats def true Ill have to tell you thanks too cause u have been a ton of help also

My goal are to be able to lear enough to be able to race once this year.

All function and no form, I suppose.

Cut me some slack man... that was my first one!

But, if you have ever taken a look at my rides, you have no idea how true your statement is. Function before looks... always :smoke:

No racing for me. Just play.
