Just bought an XTM Mammoth on craigslist for 75 bucks. It runs , came with ignitor , radio and electronics work. Only thing , one of the spur gears seem to bee binding. The truck wont roll in revese by hand , did I make a mistake? Please help!!!
 
I have heard of them before. Give it a shot, it might turn out to be a nice truck.
It looks fairly durable... :hehe:

Mine acually is a monster truck 4wd looking truck. It has all aluminum shocks , 2 per wheel , starts and runs , like I said , just the tranny or the gears are almost binding like. Thanks for your inputand video . :whhooo: That was actually pretty crazy.
 
I don't think they are in business anymore, I know my LHS can't get parts for them.

Pages 9 & 10 in the manual have the factory needle settings.
 
Thanks guys. I know the truck is not really a winner , but looking on you tube vids , it looks like a fast bashing kind of truck. Just thought I'd take a chance for 75 bucks.
 
Yea, some times you just have to take a chance in this hobby. For a running 1/8 scale MT, $75 isn't that bad.
 
Well , Whatdya know:\ the tranny was a mess , but on a high note, I posted it on craigslist and sold it in 2 hours.:whhooo: Turns out , the guy wanted it for all the upgrades that it had. It had aluminum shock towers , all new alum. shocks (2 per wheel) and the engine had great compression. Also sold my XTM X-cellerator , so now I just have me 2 faves left and I dont intend on selling them.
 
Broke even , Also sold the guy my XTM Xcellerator. Id rather spend the money to put upgrades into my 4tec and my savage right now. But when I bought the mammoth , it came with an extra nitro engine. I don't know what it is. All I know is on the side of it is a capitol letter F and then under that it has 3.5. I took the maroon like cooling head off because it was trashed. Anyone have any Idea what engine it could be??? If not , I might post this in nitro talk with a pic of it.

Well ,I know they all look similar but the 3.5 looks the same , just above it is "F". and the purple rubber is black. Will post a pic this week. Thanks , I may have scored on this engine. Compression seems great.
