Bought myself an early Fathers' Day present. Obviously, by the thread title, it's the Volcao 16. Found the blue one on Amazon for $83. This will be my first ever basher/monster truck
I have played with my buddy's Slash and Stampede, and had to have one. A 1/10 just wasn't in the budget (yet). I did some research and think I will be happy with it.

My wife is saying I have to wait to Father's day to use it. :(

I did take it out of the box to check it out. Seems like it's going to be pretty cool

Hopefully weather cooperates next Sunday and I will have it out with his 1/10 bashers. I'll get some comparison size pics and some video

Mrs. Tallbump is claiming that I have to wait until Father's day to play with it
Hoping to change her mind and check it out tomorrow
Hitting some yard sales in just a few minutes, hoping to find some of those small plastic skateboard/bike ramps

So I got to play with it yesterday. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. Great first basher. Got about 20 minutes of runtime court of one battery an mostly concrete and gravel, and about 10 out of grass. It's amazing on concrete and gravel - I even turned down the speed a bit when I first started driving. In grass that was cut 5 days ago, in my backyard, it did ok. Not as fast, of course, and fairly bouncy - but it's only a 1/16 scale and it's brushed, so that's to be expected. The dogs loved chasing it.
Very pleased with it. Of course, I will definitely be upgrading the suspension at some point, and maybe grab some Lipo batteries as the factory ones are lithium ion.
But overall, I am VERY pleased. Definitely worth every penny of the $85 I paid, and, actually worth a bit more.
I played with it yesterday morning and afternoon. I had left clear, protective film on. Last night I peeled that off and put the decals on.
It's pretty cool as it gives you different decal options for grills/headlights, the sides, the tailgate, etc.... I also put the working headlights in the bumper.

As promised, a couple of videos. Just a few short ones as the weather didn't fully cooperate.

My buddy bought some small little kicker ramps that were the perfect size for the 1/16. They were too small for his 1/10 scale trucks. I traded him for a nice good size one that should be perfect for him

And there's just a little short video of just a little run around the parking lot

Mini's are fun because they don't need a ton of space. Looks like a good time. :)
It is a blast so far. Definitely well worth the money. My buddy who got me into RCs, who has a Slash, Stampede and XMaxx says he needs to get one now

2 of my boys have the red cat volcano 16's. They've had them about 3 years probably.
I will say this.. those buggars are tough trucks! They have been slammed into curbs more times then I can count. Jumped from my porch... I mean abused to no end. They have never broken anything until recently. Both thier steering servos final died within a couple weeks of each other.

Definitely fun- Definitely tough little trucks.

As @Doom! Said also.. the mini trucks are a hoot. Out of my 40ish rc's i find myself grabbing the small ones more often then anything.

I really do love this thing. ANd yeah, it has taekn quite the beating so far. I am still very new to bashers and even at this small scale the speed and responsiveness is taking some getting used to. I have crashed it quite a bit and it's so far completely unharmed.

Will be taking it out again today for some more fun

Just realized I never posted a picture with my buddy's Stampede
He had is Maxx out yesterday, it was insane. Soon we're going to get a pick of all 3
Also reposting a comparison with my 1/24 scale Base Camp crawler just to give some perspective
