I finally decided I wanted to build a VS4-10. I have had Vanquish products on my SCx10 ii based rigs and have always been satisfied with them. After months of research and planning I started buying parts.
Some parts are very difficult to buy. They are made in small batches and go up on there webpage when they are ready. Then then sell out in hours. So getting a DIG unit took three months. The overdrive gears that provide 26% overdrive to the front axle took about a month.

every two week I ordered about 50-100 bucks worth of parts. Electronics and upgrades that sort of thing.
The kit was the last thing I bought and I got it one day before the price increase. (Just dumb luck).

I wanted the rig to be the best it could be, so planning was key.
The motor is a Holmes Hobby Puller Pro 3500kv.
Powered by a MambaX
I installed all matching ReefsRC servos for steering, winch and Dig.

The lower links are titanium and each ball linked can be adjusted to remove any play.
The rest of the kit is so over the top you can’t upgrade anything. It’s like building a Swiss watch.
For this build I needed help. So I enlisted a couple Muppets.

First step is to read the very well laid out instructions.

So they got the frame together. Typical C channel steel. Nicely powder coated. The plastic frame supports are very large and hold the servos. The frame ends up being very ridged

That looks like an awesome build! Will definitely be following!:thumbs-up:
I'll probably upgrade my 10ii with a bunch of Vanquish parts as well since I have the Origin body on mine, and the quality seems to be pretty nice.

The boys made some progress on the frame over the weekend.
The way the frame braces work is pretty cool. They not only act as very strong supports but they double duty as servo mounts and accessories.

Construction of the axle assembles is really the most fun part.
The Curry F9 axles are just beautiful. The boys had no trouble getting them assembled.

The next bit of heavy lifting is the transmission. The VFD transmission is really good. The motor is under the transmission and as far forward as it can be.
inside the trans are all metal gears with 6% overdrive. I am adding an accessory kit from Vanquish that will provide 26% overdrive to the front axle.
Also in this build will be a VFD Dig unit controlled by a reefs RC servo.

The motor is a Holmes Hobbies Puller pro 3500kv

Major progress happening. The suspension is going together.
The links are titanium. Each rod end consists of a metal body with a brass insert and an adjustment screw. There is zero play or slop. The suspension movement is super smooth and precise.
The motor and transmission go in with very few screws and look really good with the bell housing meant to look like a full size gearbox.

O snap! I’ll be working on that tonight. I think I’ll pick up a hot wheel on my way home.
thanks for the idea.
Don't forget the roll around stool. I used the shite outa one of those back in the day. Never was much of a creeper fan. I was always 2" too fat to fit under the cars lol.

Ya, I never use creepers . 42 years as an auto tech. I don’t like how you move around trying to turn bolts.
Now a days it’s all lift work so not much call for them. I got a roll around stool from snap-on. Had a hole so it was cheap. Use it every day in my tiny shop now.
