hey everybody,

i have been interested in rc cars for a while and was in a Pawn Shop today and saw a SMT on-road(i think) nitro in there for $200 (AUD), it looked like it was in pretty good condition and $200 is alot cheaper than i have seen some R/C's go for in hobby shops..

i dont think id ever race them, just more of a fun hobby to bash it around on the weekend.

what i am getting at is, do i need more than just some petrol and the controller(with batteries) to run it and are SMT cars any good?

any info will be great, thanks!

Id try to stick with name brand kits and I wouldnt want to buy one from a pawn shop either. Especially as a beginner buying used is more often than not a frustration that can quickly kill interest in the hobby for new people.
