very confusing and awkward

:flaming: i tried tuning my rs4 3 evo today but when it idles, it revs up then revs down and then revs up again all by itself with the radio off. when it revs up, i turn the idle screw counter-clockwise 1/8 of a turn but then the idle gets too low and shuts off, and when the idle is too low i turn the idle screw 1/8 of a turn clockwise and then the idle becomes too high and revs up, I'm very frustrated now. also when i hit the brakes, the idle seems normal for about 5 seconds then begins to cut out, its like it has a mind of its own, please help!!

that sounds like a air leak, check your lines, tank lid, fuel filter(if you have one), and possible even seal the carb and backplate.

i just recently got a rs4 and just did a tear down and rebuild on the mill and sealed these while i was at it

The radio has to be turned on, both the Tx and Rx. You have no control over the car without them. Oh Yeah, and what Beason said.

but even with the rx and tx on the engine still does that, i changed the stock fuel tank with a racing one ( no primer=no airleaks) and the carb doesn't have airleaks either, i fixed those, hmm about the backplate though.... i havent checked that one, i should give it a look

also check your lines, if you changed the tank you may have torn up an end, or you may have a pinhole in there somewere.

Yeah, the way they route the line on the primered tank means it will almost always get messed up...

ok now its weird, i turn on my car and it wants to take off on me, but then when i run it after a while, if i just let it sit, it turns off, but it was taking off on me first, soo whats wrong?!!
