Hello to all; newbie in the hobby!
Does anyone owns one of those Vanquish?
Just saw a video and man that thing is badass…. Is this a rock crawler but with more speed compared to others?
That’s what I’m looking…
Thanks in advance

Vanquish is about as good as it gets as far as I'm concerned. The VS4-10 is a crawler and the gears can be changed to be a little bit faster rig.
However, with that being said, crawlers are not designed to be real fast. They are design to do just that, "crawl".
They don't break nearly as bad as a basher does and they can be modded using other manufacturers parts.
Vanquish parts can also be used in other rigs also. I have a few parts in mine. They are expensive but well worth it.
My guess would be, the video you watched was probably a Rock Bouncer which are faster.

I have 2 of them... VS4-10 Pheonix Straight Axle and a VS4-10 Pheonix Portal Axle waiting to be built. The quality is awesome and they can be set up so many different ways. Rear dig, selectable overdrive, front freewheel, rear freewheel. The body is awesome! As far as speed, this is not meant to be a fast truck. It will go fast if you set it up for that, but it will not handle well fast. My "faster" crawler rig is my Traxxas TRX4 Sport with locking/unlocking diffs. If I am crawling, I lock it in 4wd. If I want to play around and go fast I unlock the diffs for better handling. I have a castle mamba X with 228kv and it is pretty quick on 3s.

Thanks! The TRX4 Sport is the one I like so far… how the locking/unlocking diffs work? Is that something on the remote?

I got the trx4 sport kit and installed the locking diffs (part listing below). With a brushless setup there is no need for a 2 speed transmission. You will need at least a 3 channel remote if you want to add the remote locking diffs.

Hello;
I think I found a combo (motor and esc) for the TRX4 Sport… pls let me know if that’s all I need to increase the power…
Hobbywing quickrun 16BL30 ESC with quicrun 2435 motor.
Thanks in advance

Thanks! The first two add speed to the TRX4? Compared to the stock motor, it will be a huge difference with those two cheaper combos?
Thanks

The stock motor is a 21t. I'm not sure how much more wheelspeed you will get with the 10t. Try youtube. I'm someone on there has done it and posted a video.
I personally find the stock motor to have plenty of wheelspeed for me, because if I want a "fast rig" I grab my Losi DB Pro or one of my Arrmas

Understood; thanks a lot for all the help…

Pretty big difference in RPMs between a 21T and a 10T. Youll see a pretty good jump in top speed but the motor will get hotter faster and probably wont crawl very well. Not sure I understand why you want to buy a crawler if your primary concern is going faster but I hope it works out for you.

The best brushless crawler combo on the market right now is fusion se.

Trx4 sport is an awesome crawler. I have both sport and regular with locking diffs and in reality trx4 sport is as capable or even more capable than trx4 because of lighter weight. You don't really need locking diffs or 2 speed unless you want to impress your friends with all the functions.

You don't really want a fast crawler, even stock speed will traction roll on high grep like pavement and will be able to do wheelie. If you want something more fun with all features, big size, almost as big as losi 6scale, but not scale looking is Traxxas summit. It's a big size, plush suspension, not really a skate park basher but with around 20mph speed enough to have some fun, locking diffs really help crawling, it has light from factory, it's in my opinion one of the most underrated Traxxas cars right now

Thanks for the info, what’s the difference between the Fusion SE and the Pro? Apart from price. Went to a hobby shop today and the guy told me that the SE won’t give me the speed I was looking for, he just recommended the Fusion Pro.
thanks in advance.

Fusion pro will be a little faster, if I remember it is 2300kv vs 1800 kv, and its a little bit smoother in low speed and throttle modulation. You can gear up couple teeth on the pinion to match speed of the 2300kv motor but again, if you want a fast rc crawler is not the way to go. For the money you can't beat fusion se, it's almost half the price with 90% of features and performance
