And does the C rating affect the settings on a charger?
I was also going to ask, what is a good pinion and slipper set up for bashing? I have a 15T pinion and a 90T spur gear on my slash and when I put bigger tires on it (Talons) the motor and ESC over heat and shut off.

Is this with teh 2s now? I'm prolly not gonna be any help on this one, thats a really high kv motor and I suck at guessing what gear ratio to run lol.

The C Rating on a battery s for discharge purposes only. It does not affect charging. Most batteries will be stamped to charge at a maximum of 1C. 1C is your batteries capacity/1000. So for a 5000mah battery 1C = 5A (5000/1000 = 5). 2C would be 10A and so on and so forth. The 30C rating on the battery is the discharge rate....so again on a 5000mah battery 30C = 150A (5000/1000 * 30 = 150)

If you are running the Stock motor in your Slash, be careful on gearing. I used the optional 23T pinion on it for a single 5 min qualifier at my local track and smoked the motor. Those motors aren't very durable when you start over-gearing it. I run 18/86 on my Slash. I just ordered a few 19T pinions that I'm going to try....but I won't go bigger than 19T.

Thanks for clearing that up. So would a 15/90 ratio be okay then for my purposes (bashing)
And I'm using the castle creations 7700kv brushless motor with a 2S lipo.

The best way to test your gearing is with a temp gun. You want to keep the motor cool enough so it doesn't hit the shutdown temp. Most guys I run with at the track like to keep their motors running less than 170-180 degrees...and they gear accordingly. Gearing will be affected a LOT by the terrain your on and your individual driving style. So if 15/90 keeps shutting down your motor, change it up a bit to see what it does. I would suggest not running it to thermal shutdown too much though or you risk frying your motor.

So run the truck....and then temp the motor to see what it's at and go from there.

Thats what I've been doing. It's running around 150-165. This is with the stock tires. Ill try the other tires again, maybe last time there was some dirt or rocks around the gears or shafts.
Anyways, thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it!
