In my Rusty which has a smaller motor, I'm getting about 15 minutes out of a 6 cell 1800 and 2000

it has a 550 12turn motor, and I've tried it with both 2 6cell, and 2 7cell batterys, the best time i have gotten is 4 minutes. all 4 batterys have been cycled 4 or 5 times.

I was thinking you should be getting about 6 minutes with that battery. I bought 2 3300 mah batt packs for 20 bucks each, and a 5000 mah batt pack for 45 bucks on ebay, all of those are the standard buy it now price.

If it's high speed you're looking for, there's the possibility that the combination of the 12 turn motor and a tall gear ratio are drawing a lot of current.

You have to remember that you are only using 1800 mah batteries and getting 4 minutes. I would try a 3300 or something like that and see what you get, and if you like it you can step up to the 5000mah.

I've got the exact same motor and ESC that you have coming in the mail tomorrow. I'll try it with the 3300 or 3600 batt pack and let you know what the run time is. Now you see why everyone is going with the brushless setups and lipo, not only are they stupid fast but they get much better runtime. But with a decent size battery you will get a lot more runtime.
