Between the two, I'm more of a Revo fan, but you got two legacy trucks for a decent price.
You're way ahead of the game if you can inexpensively get one running.
Why do you think that the .28 may need a new carb?
2.5 Rebuild - How extensive of a "rebuild" are you planning?
- Clean it / slap it together / see if it runs?
- Do you have all the necessary parts to put it back together?
- If I was going as far as to rebuild (replace the piston/cylinder/conrod), or even try pinching it, I recommend replacing the bearings.
If it has no compression / if the cylinder is worn out, there's good odds that the bearings have had their day in the sun.
