  1. Bashing
I’m looking for a new Tx/Rx for my Losi 8ight-T conversion. I’m going to doing some club racing this year, when I can, and bashing around in the field by my house. I have 3 trucks: a Revo 3.3, a Thunder Tiger MT4-G3 and the Losi 8ight-T. I’d like to switch out the stock MT4 Tx/Rx and use the same Tx as the new one I buy. The Revo 3.3 will stay as is for now since I’m still running the dual steering servos and reverse, so I need more than 3 channels.

Amain has the Spektrum DX3S with 2 receivers on sale for $165 + $11 (shipping to Canada) = $176. Would this be a good choice, additional receivers are ~$90? Is that correct?

The other thing I’ve looked at is getting a losikid modded Fly Sky GT3B. I really don’t want to do the mods myself and his version would have the latest firmware installed, the bearing mod, voltage regulator mod, hacking header installed and 2 receivers. It would be $103 + $37 (shipping) = $140. The great thing about the Fly Sky is the additional receivers are only $8.
Note: Ordering from NitroRCX would be $47 + $27 (shipping) = $74

I’m looking for some help since I’ve never used anything except the stock units. Is there are better choice? Futaba 3PL or a 2 CH Tx/Rx?

Thanks.

I like the Spektrum DX3s. I've used one for several years with no problems.

As far as the Revo, it only uses 3 channels: Steering, throttle and reverse.

The TQi receiver has 2 CH1 for the dual steering servos. Can the Spektrum receiver do this too?

You just need a servo y-connector.

Ok, thanks.

Look at a Futaba 3PL or 4PL. I picked up a gently used 4PL for $180 and the additional RXs are only $50

I like the look of the 3PL better than the 4PL and have been looking for a used one locally for a while now but haven't found one yet.

To buy the DX3S at the LHS here it's ~$250 so I thought buying from Amain was a pretty good deal. I'm thinking this is another stock depletion sale just like the 8ight-T I just bought - not that I really care, just a thought.

IF you're going to buy a new TX from Amain for $250 Id get the Futaba 4PL. same price way better radio. Granted it doesn't have the telemetry capability but it has 4channels instead of 3, better range, and I believe a lower latency rate as well. The Spektrum telemetry is junk anyway, at least most people would agree with that statement.

Bought a used Futaba 4PL on ebay last night for $165 shipped. Sounded to good to be true so I hope it's not DOA.

There are lots of features on it that I'll probably never use but it looks like a great radio.

Thats a great deal if its in good condition. I had to be really patient to pick up the one I have for $180 but it was the guys back up radio so it hadnt hardly been used at all. If its not in good condition then at least you have Ebay buyer protection.
