hi, i want to know if it possible to use the mp mod with the kimborough servo saver???? i already have the mp mod and a 645 hi tec servo. I'm using a ofna 1400 mah batt pack aswell. but my stock wheels wont turn when standing or on dirt, carpet like lots of people have said! I'm not to fussed as my steering is fine when my savage runs. just thought it would help it turn with a quicker response???????????

thank you g unit

If you are using the MP mod, there is no need to have a kimbrough as well. While it would offer twice the protection, it will not help the turning of the wheels. I assume you are running a 6v pack. If not you should be. I use the Airtronics 94358Z on both my Savage and Maxx with no problems.

The two servo savers would work against each other defeating the purpose of either and causing the steering to be mushy and sluggish. Stick with the MP saver. If you are not using the 6volt pack as suggested, that might be why your truck won't turn the wheels on the carpet. The other possibility is that the steering is just a bit too tight.

cheers guys!

yes I'm using a 6v batt. my steering seems ok ( not to tight)

cheers guys

You should drop the stock saver and install a solid servo horn. The MP upgrade is a saver in itself. It's probably why your lacking performance that you think you should have.

Use the OFNA aluminum servo arm . Also check the dual rate adjustment knob on your radio and make sure its set to max I know someone else had the same problem and it was just that he didnt have the knob set to max , I also did that once too so I know how easy it is to overlook.

cheers guys

i have my trim all the way down. I'm just about to order the ofna horn anyway as it was that one or the kimborough. thanks for the help people.

I've got a question. How do you guys have your steering linkages hooked up without the passenger side one being limited in it's throw by hitting the saver? I had mine switched from below the drag-link/knuckle to above but with stock offset wheels they rub. It's driving me nuts, I've had to go back to the kimbrough for now till I figure something out.

Post a pic of what your talking about. Are you using the MP saver/bellcranks?

The only thing I had problems with were the Lunsford turnbuckles I bought off sky. they don't allow for as much movement as stock. After a little dremeling and a little oil, they work ok now, but still bind at full extension. The only time it's at full extention is during a wheelie or when it's in the air, so I don't mind.

I had the issues using the Lunsford with the MP saver.

see where I've tried to grind some material away? That's where the rod-end is hitting and keeping my wheels from turning completely in that direction.

What was the problem? I never had any binding or tightness when I used them. What are you doing with my poop? :D
