I've read both good and bad about them, but the same goes for big brand name stuff too. HobbyKing now has a US warehouse, so ordered up a couple of 3S 25C 5000's for my pede on Thursday, and they were here today coast to coast. I'm waiting on connectors, but I'll post up what I think of them once I get time to run them. Best of all, they were CHEAP compared to what I've been paying. Anyone have any experience with them?

I have lots of experience with them and in my book they are the best I've ever used and they cost so very little compared to any "big brands". Thas ALL I run any more in everything. can't complain too really if one dies, you can afford to replace it, if a big brand dies then you have to save up for ever to replace it. I've also had better luck with Turnigy's not heating up even when their discharge isnt as high as a "big name" pack.

I also recently ordered some turnigy lipos from hobbyking but haven't received them yet. I've been hearing mostly good things about them; yet was so hesitant to buy them because they are so cheap compared to any others. Looking foward to running them!

Thanks guys, that's good to hear. Looks I'll be ordering a bunch more soon for everything I own. They have Micro T lipos for $1.76 and Blade MSR packs for $.99.

What is the part number for the pack that fits the micro? I want a lipo for my mucro DT but catn justify the $30 for the losi pack.

I've used some of their 3S 5000mah packs and were very happy with their output. The wires that come with them are nice and beefy 8 ga.

Edit: wires are 8 ga, thanks for reminding me bart!

They are great IMO. I can race 20 minutes on a 4s 30c 5000 lipo and it never heats up. It barely even get's warm.

I see no need to buy more expensive packs that's for sure. However I do replace the 8awg wire they use on the bigger packs for 12awg. A thinner wire is just fine for my application, and 8awg is extremely hard to solder on. You'll need a 80W iron for that, I know my 60W unit struggles.

I have several of their packs in 2s and 3s. I have had pretty good luck with them all so far. The 8 ga is a PITA to solder though for sure. My 60 Hakio will do it but it is still a bit overkill. I am starting to use the EC5 connectors since they are a 5mm bullet connector they can take an 8ga wire pretty easy. They are fairly easy to solder as compared to some and no heat shrink required. I think they gotta be better than the Deans Ultra just because of the huge contact surface area. Link to them

Thanks for all the great feedback and info guys, I'm about to place another order for myself and a friend. We're stocking up for winter time.

I haven't measured yet, but this looks like it to me. I'll measure my lipo pack when I get home and let you know if these will work.

Hmmm, those look like E Flite EC connectors only bigger (I think the E Flite is an EC3, so 3mm I'm guessin?). I will be using Traxxas plugs on the packs I just got, but down the road will be using the smaller version of those on the helis. I'm with you Joey, I find Traxxas plugs much easier to solder because there is no chance of melting the plastic like Dean's. Took me a few tries to get the hang of the Dean's plugs, and I still buy extra just in case. Thanks for the link Joey!

$.99 for mSR batteries? I gotta get me some of those.

Yep, these are .99 each

But, I run the 150mah E Flites for longer flight times, and I will be ordering these. Even though they're way more expensive. :D

Thanks for the info.

No problem Cosmos. I came home for lunch, and the lipo I'm using comes in at 28 x 19 x 11mm, so the one in the link won't work unfortunately.

EDIT: These will work though, as the battery compatment is 36 x 22 x 12mm. I do not use my battery tray door though, thought I should mention that, I use a velcro strap.

$2.50 each

Hey HPIGuy you are correct they are the same connectors but bigger. Have to be good. I tried another that I liked as well they were the XT60 but just don't work well for wire over 10Ga. Still better than Deans I think. I have bought my last of the ol Deans Ultra I think. They were the best for years but thinks are just progressing and they need to change to keep up.

I like venom but let me know what you think of them i like cheap!

Is that for the micro T battery compartment? I might be able t get away with the longer battery on my DT. Ill have to open it up and measure myself.

I haven't been around in the electric realm in so long that all the plug types were all new to me when I got my Slash. I was still using molex connectors. :hehe: But I will say this, nothing has been more nerve wracking than soldering micro Dean's onto a lipo for the Micro T. They're so small it's easy to short the lipo at the posts, and easy to melt the housing as well since it's tiny. IMHO battery manufacturers, much like cell phone chargers need to reach a standard. It would certainly save all of us a lot of headaches.

I was using Venom's, but after having a fairly new pack fail I figured what can it hurt. I'll keep you posted.

Yep, that's the inside dimensions on the compartment itself sir.
