Hello I am very new to any kind of forum my name is Joe I have a brand new thunder tiger ek4s2 that has been never ran , never had a drop of fuel in it ,, I have some Msj parts and was wondering if someone can tell me why the throttle would not open with the msj center brace it would hit the brace and I had to build up the engine about a 1/4 inch with a piece of aluminum .. Thanks

It clears now after raising the engine and bending the throttle linkage but id like to know what was the right thing that it needed , is there some kind of high rise motor mounts that need to be installed if using the msj parts or what ,, any help would be great there is absolutely no information on line about msj parts. I'm also thinking of running the truck , its made it this long and never ran so its a toss up , I have 2 other engines that have been ran I may put one in the truck to try it out ...

I have no clue ,however ,its a very nice truck ,an great build!
There may have been an after market engine mount ,but that's what make custom builds
worth doing when you can make things work on your own!

You did a great job!...:thumbs-up:

Again, sorry I don't have your answer but modding your throttle linkages to work with other mods is totally acceptable (if that helps?)
Really tho, I just wanted to say, that is a KILLER rig!!! Excellent work!!!:thumbs-up:

Also... :welcome_sign: Good to have you aboard Joe!

It looks like it's had modifications done to it. I'd recommend checking for where the interference is, seeing whether that part has been installed wrong and check that. If your modification works, and is strong, then it's ok. Before you run it, break the engine in.

I believe the MSj was designed to work with either a true center diff or the two speed set up not the factory spur/spool

On the throttle linkage, there is a set screw in the ball assembly that connects to the carb. Usually, you can loosen the set screw and rotate the ball to get 1/4" clearance up or down.

Thank you I'm gonna have to check the throttle screw ball that was mentioned , if u ment turn the ball up higher , the whole slide that pulls out would not clear the center brace the throttle would come on slightly but would eventually run into the brace stopping it from full throttle , I also need to figure out the battery to power the servos , the one that will fit into the battery box , thanks for all the input
