I got a Rustler rolling chassis, and I am interested in a brushless motor/esc that would make it faster than my VXL Rustler. Maybe something that can work with the stock gearing. It would be nice if I could use my Traxxas Lipo batteries, maybe even use a bigger Traxxas motor, but I am open to any suggestions. Also, any suspension part recommendations? I was also thinking of adding an on board audio from a slash.

Stock vxl has a 3500kv so a 4000kv will work but as you also asked same gears thats going to be a No... gonna need a few teeth larger spure if I Remember right.. a hobbywing combo will work. under 130 sorry no links. Then your gonna have to try a either beef up tire or get maybe a foam not sure what your going to be doing w rc.

on rc once you start switching 1 thing theres others that will need to be changed.cvd.( steel axels.bearing hubs..

I have the Hobbywing MAX10 SCT ESC/3660SL 4000kV in my Stampede 2wd and she runs awesome. Well for awhile today anyways, I smacked a huge rock and blew out a shock. I am going to put it in my Stampede 4x4 Friday when it gets here.

I have a Stampede 4X4. Goes pretty good. I don't think you'll be let down. I will follow all of these links at lunch today and shop accordingly.
Funny thing is, I actually have those proline power strokes on my beauty Rustler. I'll have to share how I indexed the threads so as to count the turns.
On your link it says the motor is sold out. I'll find one somewhere.
How about cooling? ESC fans, heat sinks?
What would be a good set of tyres for the 2wd Rustler for paved circle track? How about a pair for rougher terrain? I use Anacondas on my beauty Rustler.
Also, does anyone know about that On Board Audio? Is it practical? How would I make it work? DO I need a special ESC or receiver to make it work?

I've had better times with Picket SC tires on blacktop.
anyone of those sites have your fan and other parts you can order at the same time.
OBA only impresses 6 year olds on the track.

What about the 4600 hobby wing motorhttps://www.amainhobbies.com/hobbywing-ezrun-max10-sct-sensorless-brushless-esc-3660sl-motor-combo-4600kv-hwa38010202/p607218
What is the name of the connectors I will need, or a link?

Why do you want such a high kv? you can change your gearing and run just as fast. you'll have to solder the connectors yourself. when you are drawing over 100 amps I would use a XT90 plug and keep all wires as short as you can.
why not go with more volts

Still learning electric motors. My buddy got a 4600 kv sidewinder castle. I don't feel the need to out muscle him, if that's even the point. I am all set to get your motor, the 4000 kv, even though the 4600 is the same price. You are helping me build a circle track racer, and I assumed that is why you recommended that motor. I found the store, just want to see if I can get all needed accessories at one location. I'll look at this new shopping list shortly, and thanx, Bob

Does anyone have a link to get the connectors I need to use a non-traxxas esc with a Traxxas battery? Possibly at the Amain store?

If anyone has the link for the solder-on Traxxas ESC connectors from the Amain store, I would indeed appreciate it. All set to order the motor, just trying to save $$ on shipping.

So got the Hobby WIng 4000 KV motor. It came with Cappack. Do I need to install this and where does it connect?

Got the motor in, sound box, exhaust sensor, stainless steel screws, RPM front and rear control arms, RPM rear axle carriers, aluminum front casters and axle carriers, heat sink and fan, rpm front bumper, Hobby Wing EZ set 4000KV and ESC, and proline power stroke shocks coil overs front and rear, stock springs. About to test drive. Any ideas how to make it handle?

Take it easy at first and make sure everything is working. check your temps after 5 min of run then start going harder. check temps again after run to make sure it's not running hot. if it is then you need to drop 2 teeth on the pinion gear

So, no steering whatsoever when under heavy throttle, (big surprise), turned the spring tension up a bit, driving a parking lot lumpier than San Fransisco, and the steering will go go straight from a hard turn, tends to stay slightly turned from whichever direction it came back from. Is the steering caused by over tightened bell crank linkage bushings? I didn't think you could over torque them. They were one of the few screws I did not switch over to stainless. Advice on steering or anything else? Aluminum bell crank linkage? Is there a sway bar kit for this car? (I know I asked before elsewhere) What would be a good starting point for the slipper clutch? I think I cranked it all the way down, then back half turn. Seems ok, what would you do for a circle track racer?
