trucks vs buggys

I'm fairly new to the rc stuff but a friend of mine has a 1/10 truck and I have an 1/8 scale buggy. I just don't get the big draw to trucks he spends more time flipping it right side up then anything else. Sure it runs on grass way better but it can't jump worth beans. And you wanna talk about breaking parts holly-molly. I've had mine 5ft off the ground manytimes and 90% of the time it lands perfectly and off I go. But the truck looks like a gymnastic meet. I does look cool tho, to each his own I guess.

OK, but do you have a 1/8 scale MT like the Savage? It jumps plenty well and no parts breakage. I got about 15 ft of air off of a 8ft pile of stones today!!! Wheee!!!!!

I have a couple of buggies and I love them, a buddy had a truck and I wasn't overly impressed toasted his new body in no time. Go buggy.

I think the savage is a little better truck than my buddies Traxxas. My buggy's nothing fancy just an ultra mbx but I love to run it over the jumps it sucks on grass though.

What buggy is it, and how come it doesn't get damaged. Also, what mods have you done to that to make it withstand that.

I have a Kyosho Inferno TR-15 Stadium Force, would you class that as a buggy, and woul it be able to do that stuff.

I have both (MT and Buggy,) and my vote is for Buggy. The MT is cool for job site bashing, and gravel pile hill climbs, but if there is a track, or good packed dirt with a jump or two, the buggy rocks. I can spend all day with 50' of staight away, and a little 1' mound of dirt.

The buggy is a Ofna PBS with a RB concept WS7 11 mill. In answer to your question, by the end of the day there was a few bent items but nothing that couldn't be fixed (cheaply). The harder you bash the more you will break no matter what buggy you have, I have found that the PBS is fairly impact resistent for the most part. I not up on the inferno TR-15 so I don't know how much of a bashing it could take, I guess trial and error and start out slow.

I did finally break something this weekend. I'm not sure if it was me or my buddy but after going off a couple jumps the rear differential stripped. I haven't taken it apart yet but I'm assuming I'll have to either rebuild or replace it. So I can no longer say I haven't had to replace a part. Although it was more abuse than anything I neglected to let off the gas on a landing and it wheelied when it landed once that may have done it or started it on the way.

your right man the pcr is a freakin tank. it takes a beating and from what i'm seeing the harder i beat it the more it wants. its kinda like a....well you know what i mean.

Can you jump and treat buggies a lot worse than normall offroaders, and stadium trucks etc. Also, is it the way you land that determines what you damage, because I have a tiny ramp in my garde, and whn i drive it up it, the car goes like 0.5foot in the are, and lands bang on the front wheels. if I learn how to land, do you think i could do 3 feet jumps and things with no damage etc. Also, do you always jump on grass.

pavement is not an ideal place to land your jumps. Grass/dirt are the best. You should definatly be able to jump more than .5 feet. we have a jump that spans 15 feet and most of us are overshooting it with no broken parts.

Also when you are in the air press the accelerator, to see what it does to your ride. Do the same to your brakes and you will know how to fix yourself in the air. Once you get this down you'll know how to jump, land, and most of all....ride away!

Just to clarify, when in the air if you give it gas it will bring your front end up and if you use the brake it will bring the front end down. Happy jumping.

The Kyosho Stadium Force is a 1/10-scale 4WD stadium truck, similar to the HPI Nitro MT and MRC Academy.

Personally, I love the monster trucks! No wait, I love stadium trucks. Wait, buggies rock! LOL! I love them all for different reasons.
