Troubles deciding

Hi I am having troubles deciding if I want the psp or a nitro stadium for Chritmas but if I get talked into the nitro rc what do yo guys have to say about the traxxas rustler or whats a goods truck for around the same price (like $300)? thanks for the help

the psp is 250 and the rustler is 300. which one do you think you will get tired of quicker. i have a psp and i barely play with it. i would get the rustler. you can do alot more with the rustler. evently the psp will get played out and be another game collecting dust in the closet or something. but this is just me.

Rustler is a good stadium truck, but I think you should decide if you want the truck or the PSP. Keep in mind there's more to the truck than just the initial cost of it. You'll have to buy plugs, fuel and support gear for it (i.e. battery pack, batteries for the TX, etc.) Also, you will inevitably have to replace a broken or worn out part.

Hey, I'm trying to talk you out of it, but you need to be aware of the whole smash up front. I don't want you to regret any decision you make.

Ok thanks for the help but i was wondering if the rustler is a good st or should i go with something else and can i bolt on any traxxas 2.5 parts on the motor

I also would like to add that I'm not a total noowb i had owned a t-maxx thats why i am wondering about bolt on parts cause i have a kinda tricked out 2.5 that is lying around i bought an extra motor when the dropped the price if i bought a new one direct

Well, a few things you need or should share that will help us, or at least me, in giving any ideas for you.

1. When you say, "kinda tricked out", what do you mean by that?
2. By "had owned a t-maxx", I take it you no longer have the t-maxx, or want something in addition to the t-maxx?
3. Are you looking for 2WD or 4WD ST?
4. Are you set on a ST?

As for bolting a 2.5 onto something other than a Traxxas rig, anything's possible, in my book. I doubt you'll find another model that is a direct bolt-on, but so long as you can find engine mounts and have the correct CB and flywheel for that particular model, I suppose it's possible. I'd wait for some other opinions as well, because I'm not 100% confident on that, but if .21RC10GT can put a Collari .30 into a RC10GT, there's probably a way to drop a 2.5 into most anything!

If you have the money, I would go with a monster truck. The only reason I'm buying a ST is because I don't have enough for a savage or revo. I would recommend getting a 4WD ST because thats what you're used to. An HPI MT2 isn't a bad 4WD truck...thats what I have. The rustler looks good, but i've heard that the components aren't the best.

I think thats a choice that the only person who can make it is you. Being a Rc forum, of course were going to lean towards the Rc. But if you go to a gaming site, I'm sure all the gaming nerds will say go Psp. And also probably screw the sun..lol.. If ya did choose to go the Rc route, I could think of alot better Rc's to get than a Rusty though. Yeah there ok cars, but still.

Ok sorry for the confusion alot of typing going on right now I'm doing missing work for keyboarding in school but
1.I have the t-maxx and a spare motor with a cooling head and pipe and header and metal spur and only forward gear and performance sleeve and piston
2.I would perfer 2wd and I dont think this is possible but if so i would like 4wd but with the taking off some drive shafts make it 2wd for some power slides and stuff thats what i want it for really off-roadin and donuts and what not
3.No, Not completely set on the st but i am more into it because i want it to be low and quick but not on road

and as for the 2.5 what i ment was can i take that motor and swap it with the one on the rustler (just the rustler) because i already have two of like the same motors right now i dont need two spare performace motors and go out and buy all the motor houps on the rustler if i get it

Id save the extra $65 bucks and get the jato if you had your heart set on a Traxxas ST. Otherwise Id go for the Rc10gt or even the Mammoth St.

(Off subject but you in Kenosha Wis? Do they still have the Kenosha Twins abbl program out there?)

Yeah, I essentially agree with 4u (even though he IS in Minnesota!) If you're set on a Traxxas and want a 2WD ST, go with the Jato. That little bugger flat flies! I'll bet, though, that you can take that spare 2.5 and drop it into a RC10GT fairly easily, though. If that's something you'd consider, I'd suggest dropping .21RC10GT a PM and asking him if it's possible. He's been giving me a lot of excellent advice on a RC10GT .21 conversion I'm working on.

A 2.5 is the same regardless of what it comes in. I agree with the Jato over the Rustler or an HPI ss 18 mt would be an even better choice. Even with the old .15fe it will do donuts like crazy even with 4wd.

I say dump the 300 into the T-maxx....you can set up one sick ass MT for 3 bills on top of the basic platform.....
