I picked up a used and abused UDR on a marketplace trade. Little did I know just how abused it was. Slowly been fixing it up. Once I got it drivable to my standards I noticed that when it jumped the wheels would drag and stop spinning. Further inspection found that the rear drive shaft was at such a wicked angle that it was binding. After consulting the exploded view I found that it was missing the limit straps for the rear axle. Just finished installing the limit straps and it has the same bind. The limit straps arent even fully extended. The straps do measure 108mm. As far as I can tell all rear end parts are oem. Anyone know what I’m missing?

Not good enough pics. Take the tires off and show me the linkage from the side. Uppers and lowers together.

What is going on here?

The uppers are also adjustable. Your pinion angle is aiming too far negative, or towards the ground. Lengthen your upper links to get rid of the bind by angling your pinion more upwards.

And by all means put that one link back where it goes!

Your pinion angle is this red line. Adjust your upper links til the bind is gone towards the green line.

Aren’t those rear links the mount on top of the axle bent af?
Oh, yeah. Good eye. You might be right on the money! I just noticed what you mean lol.

And I bet those aren't the stock links.

Still has OEM trailing arms. I can’t imagine what could’ve happened to bend these links.

Good as new!

Much better! Thanks guys!View attachment 199687
A hard landing with the nose pointing straight up. Flying backwards into a curb. Hard to say. Those look fragile. And likely are a lot more fragile now. Check out aftermarket ones for it.

Or find some small aluminum tubing and cut some to fit perfectly between the eyelets snugly.

I'll probably fab some HD links out of allthread and a sleeve if I end up bending these. I really don't drive too hard so there hopefully shouldn't be a problem

I seen your berm buddy. If that UDR doesn't get shown on your roof (with no ladder in sight) we're gonna have to rethink your application to be an RCTalk member 😜

All thread is softer than you think. You might want to dig around for more robust links. You can also get custom links here: https://www.intheworksrc.com/

I see the stock pieces are m4x206mm, kinda thin for the scale I think. M5 would surely be better but the length is the hard part. Most turnbuckle or camber links ar 100mm or under. IDK what the budget is but Vitavon makes some aluminum upgrades. $55 w/shipping, ouch.

Seeing the stock TRX replacements only run $12 a pair, I think I'd just buy the stockers first, see how they hold up to your use then decide what an upgrade is really worth?

$55 for vitavon parts really and too bad lol

For camber and toe links I agree, but these essentially are just there to maintain driveline angle. I wouldn't expect to make many adjustments in this area.
Blasphemy!!! Most likely you're correct, but I'd just get the custom adjustable links because I'm nerdy like that.
