Traxxas rally mini RS200 tire wear and battery life

Just got the mini rally - great fun to drive with 2 major drawbacks. The tires lasted 3 hours of driving before wearing down to the rims. Has anybody found replacements cheaper than the Traxxas $40+. Still driving it on bare rims - slides a lot more
Also battery life is terrible - lasts 20 minutes. Any body managed to modify to accept larger batteries?

What size are the tires?

Everything is a give and take when it comes to tires, driving style, terrain, and compounds. There are all kinds of not so mainstream brands that are on eBay, Amazon, Aliexpress, etc., etc.

As far as battery/runtimes go... grab another battery. I would be totally fine with 20 minutes of runtime. After a run, give your RC a once over. Check for loose/worn/broken parts and give RC a chance to cool down. While one RC is cooling down and battery is chargin', grab another RC to run. Two RCs, proper charger, and two batteries... a person can be RCing practically nonstop all day long.

The size of the wheels/tires - dual profile - outside diameter =2.0" inside diameter = 2.6" - this is what makes them unique to the mini rally - can only find traxxas tires at $40 a pop.
