That's exactly what I thought when I had seen the mini Slash comparison picture... the 1/16 scale Slash was not included in the photo.
If they do, and put them on sale, I might have to pick up a 1/16 Summit just because I have the full size version.

So, over in the UK today, FTX just announced this rally car..!! I'll take this over the Traxxass (even thought I do like the Traxxas)

NEW RELEASE: FTX MK2RS 1/10 Brushless Rally Car RTR

FTX MK2RS 1/10 BRUSHLESS 4WD RALLY CAR RTR
If you asked a rally fan what era still stirs the soul, chances are they’d say the 70s and 80s, the ‘golden era ‘of rallying. Iconic cars, legendary drivers, and fierce manufacturer rivalries defined this time.

Now, FTX brings that spirit roaring back with the MK2RS 1/10th Rally Car, a high-performance platform packed with premium features and retro-inspired styling.

Assembled and finished with a highly detailed pre-painted bodyshell and applied decals, the MK2RS comes factory-fitted with working scale LED light including front fog lights, headlights, and taillights, so you’re ready for any stage, rain or shine.

With a 2.4ghz radio system, 3S rated Hobbywing 60A brushless electronic speed control, 4000kv 3652 brushless motor and Etronix 9kg metal geared steering servo you are all set with some high-quality electronics from the off. Just add your choice of 2S or 3S shorty LiPo battery to complete the package and get ready to set some blistering sector times.

Under the hood the MK2RS rally platform features a rugged and tunable platform with a host of high-end components to ensure you make it to parc fermé in one piece. Along with a 2.5mm aluminium chassis, CNC machined alloy parts such as suspension mounts, sliding motor mount, oil filled shocks, servo mount, steering plate all come as standard. Carbon fibre shock towers, front and rear, along with servo mounting plate are items usually reserved for the options list.

The 4wd transmission utilises a 3-differential design for maximum stability and drive under power, all assembled with high precision metal gears throughout for maximum durability. Fine tuning of the double wishbone suspension is a simple task via the adjustable turnbuckle links throughout.

Low profile style gravel spec tyres provide the traction with optional block and treaded patterns available for different conditions.

With a sealed drivetrain and underbody most debris are kept out, allowing you more time rallying and less time cleaning in the garage.

The LC Racing PTG-2R kit is what I chose awhile back with the Lancia body.

The Traxxas Mini Rally is a good-looking car, and while I'm not a fan of the type of F&R diffs they're using, I do like that it has a center diff instead of the setup they used in the Mini Slash.

I also have an Associated APEX 2 kit, but it is more street than dirt... although they do make a Rally Car version of it as well.

That thing is nice. It needs its own thread and not buried in a Traxxas platform thread. 😁

My biggest beef with this release is both the propietary body and proprietary wheels/tires, which are rock hard with next to no deformation.

The Fiesta rally costs the same and it has significantly more aftermarket potential.
