Ok bare with me here, I just bought the rustler xl maybe a month ago and I believe traxxas's power cell battery is beggining to fail! The battery has only about 30-40 charges on it. I never completly discharged it and i am using the charger that traxxas supplies you with. I did notice about 3 charges ago that one of the battery cells was getting hotter than any of the other cells and has begone to melt through the plastic cover. Could the problem be with that one cell? :\ What are some better NiMh batterys to use? thanks

is your charger a trickle charge? or a peak charge? i suggest getting a trickle charger, completely discharge the battery, then charge it overnight on the trickle charge. with nimh sometimes the cells become unbalanced. like one cells gets to much "power" (used power because i had a brain fart and can't remember the correct term) and the rest arnt getting enough, or the other way around. when you trickle charge the battery the cells turn out a much more equal voltage. if you try this and a cell is still getting hotter it is definately defective

It probably is a bad cell. A lot of the guys around here use the Turnigy packs. As far as chargers, use a peak charger and make sure not to use too high a current setting.

Over priced. I have had good luck with Intellect and Tenergy nimhs. But I would never buy nimhs again. Lipo's are equal or cheaper, and perform way better.
