Traxxas nitro rustler 2 speed conversion

I have a old 2 speed Traxxas nitro 4-tec and I’m trying to convert my nitro rustler with a trx 2.5 from single speed to two speed. Has anyone else done this? Is it possible? I’m fine with swapping the whole engine and tranny if I have to.

Not familiar with both cars but sounds like something I'd do
Quite sure it is possible but it'd take me a lot of time
