Can Traxxas batteries be soldered to an adapter.?? Say an XT60 or a Spektrum lC5.?? Or any other connector.....?? l think not but maybe someone here has done it.

You can replace or change the connectors on batteries, you just have to be careful and not let the wires contact each other. Best to do one wire at a time.

Fog.... You do know that on a Traxxas battery there is no balance plug, right.?? There are but the 4 wires are integrated together. See the attached picture.
Here's the photo.....

Oh, no, I did not know they were like that. But surely that could be converted with an adaptor? Weird. @Greywolf74 can probably answer that question.

This is the very reason I dislike Traxxas batteries. I only have one and that's one too many... ;)

They try to make it seem ”advanced” and “fancy” but it only causes more headaches. They don’t even manufacture a female TRX connector anymore due to people putting the connectors on their own batteries and making Traxxas lose sales.

Pug nailed it with the adapter. just cut the cicled traxxas connector off and then you can put your XT/EC/IC whatever connector you want on. If you have the knowledge of how balance plugs work and are soldered up you could cut the Traxxas ID connector off and make your own balance plug and put whatever adapter on it you want and not have to mess with the adapter.

Also guess we should have clarified do you have a Traxxas battery with the new Traxxas ID connector or the old Traxxas connector? If you pack has a balance plug on it then you can just replace teh connector without having to mess with adapters etc. If it doesn't have a balance plug then yeah, all the stuff we said earlier.

For charging or just for in truck _car use? For chaging the adapter "PUG"
Put up works great.. or like "WOLF" SAID you can solder your own balances lead on to the lipo and a new connector..or you want to change or have different connector on the esc? That case just solder up some traxas to whater adapters

Yeah, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the new smart battery tech. Keep it simple stupid lol.

I think its more of a gimmick to try and make their batteries and chargers more proprietary. I will say one thing for spektrum, While they do have their IC smart connectors they still offer battery packs with balance connectors as well so anyone can use them regardless of whether you have their Spektrum smart charger or not.

The only thing the Traxxas ID and the Spectrum smart batteries are for the newbie that's getting into the hobby and has NO idea...and make more $$ in the long run..for them to make them more expensive because they say smart on them...
