hi guys I've just bought this car second hand, the glow plug does not light up at all when i connect it to the glow starter so I'm thinking that i need a new one, however the car is fitted with an electric EZ Start so the plug has a longer pin on the top to connect it to the ez start.Anyone know where to get the glow plugs from or what kind they are?
Thanks

Traxxas plugs are made to fit the EZ start wire spring connection. You can use just about any plug (compatible with the engine) with a little manipulating of the spring.
A glow starter is and always will be the most sure fire way to ignite the plug though.

Cut the blue wire and get you a glow plug ignitor. Traxxas plugs are ok but os plugs are way better and the blue wire won't fit. MC 8 plugs are good too also the blue wire won't fit so unless you want to only use traxxas plugs or do some mod to the blue wire I suggest just cutting it and getting a ignitor. The ignitor I have tells you if the plug is good or bad just like the Ez start wand.

So if I cut the wire from the glow plug I can still use the ez start but just use an ignitor as with a normal pull or drill start, thanks for the help guys it's all still new to me

Yes you can still use the Ez start. A ignitor is was better. The ignitor on the Ez start works ok but you have to use a certain plug or modify the the blue wire to work with other plugs thats why most people cut it and just use a ignitor.

I'll just do that, many thanks for the help guys

If your okay with using only traxxas plugs then it's okay but me personally I think traxxas plugs suck and don't last as long.

did you make sure to have the glow plug laying against the block so its grounded ? if you just hold the plug up with the wire in it, it will not glow because there is no negative feed. if youve done that then yes you need a new plug.. I suggest getting a good glow plug Igniter, although it is a little annoying having that WITH an ez start. You might be happier with a pullstart but ez start will work fine with a GPI. ( glow plug igniter )

I strip the ez start off all mine cause it's kinda annoying and a pull start or roto start is much better.

Yeah I put it against the block I also put it in a normal glow Plug lighter and still nothing at all

Prob the glow plug then. They burn out pretty freq. I replace mine regardless every 15 or so tanks.

yeah when they burn out thats jut normal wear its nothing to be worried about.

same thing i did had so many problems with that pesky blue wire just cut it off and usd glow ignighter.

traxxas website has customer support aswell which ill tell you best ones to use for the car and wer to get them from
