I need to replace the big gear in my tranny, the one that drives the dog bones,is that call a Differential gear?O and while I'm at it,I know my clutch is engaging well beacuse my spur gear is very responsive and has plenty of cranking power, today when i was out i was running fine for a while and accelled pretty good then that was it! no more moving, thought it was the clutch but that is engaging good,so I'm askin are you thinkin what i am with the diff gear?

see thats the thing,it doesn't look damaged, none of the gears do!maybe the idler a lil but nothin major,it has good power all the way to the tranny,I put a screw driving on the spur gear to see if maybe i could slow it down or stop it,but it had tones of power, but once agian nothing really looks damaged,i have the teflon clutch shoes and they connect well, vehicle is rc10gt os 18 cv rx

I'd replace the idler gear if it looks a little rough, just to be on the safe side. Did your slipper possibly come loose? Maybe a grub screw on the outdrives? If it stopped suddenly, it's most likely that something came apart. Also check the drive pins that the wheels lock onto. If a wheel came loose, one could have fallen out.
