Well, I finally broke down and ordered the G3.5 flight sim from Tower Sunday evening. It came lastnight while I was out, pretty quick service, I think. When I opened the box, I noticed they had sent me the G4 instead, the 3.5 was listed on the invoice. Just a bit confused, I called Tower this afternoon. They sent me a UPS label and told me the 3.5 would be sent out this evening. Not a big deal, just a simple mistake in the shipping department, just a slight hassle. I just could see hanging on to a more expensive item that I didn't pay for over an honest mistake. All in all, I think Tower has been quick and fair over this.

Tower has always been reasonable with things like this. I think that's how they have stayed in business so long. Might be a little hassle, but they were quick to fix it. Other than getting it perfect the first time, this is the best you can ask for.
When 3.5 arrives and you get some stick time, let us know how it works.

I have the G4 and I just bought an add-on for it today. What's the difference in price between G3.5 and G4?

By the way, if you want to use your own radio, it comes with an adapter cord that plugs into your radio, and then into the RealFlight controller.

A slight difference in system requirements, I could have added some more RAM to my comp to overcome the difference. The other difference was a $50 increase that I didn't want to pay till I decide how much I like sims. I only have the control for my heli, and its just what came with it so I'm not really attached to just using it. The floats would have been cool but it will take a long time for me to work up to that level, I'm not sure if I can stick to it. Oh, keeping what you didn' pay for is wrong, even if no one else knows.

I applaud your honesty. It's a rare trait in today's world.
When you get your sim, feel free to ask me anything you don't understand.

As we say in the military,"Standby to standby". Thanks for the offer.

I've never had a large order with Tower, that they haven't screwed up. They can't even honor their own advertised prices. They're always my last choice for online hobby shops.

I've been pretty satisfied with Tower Hobbies. Never had any real problems.
Had a couple of radios I had to send back. One was in my little scratch-built D-7. We did a range check. All was good.
First flight. Got it up in the air and the throttle was acting up. Would go from idle to 3/4 throttle. I had one of the best fliers out there on that flight. Glad I did.

Can't send the radios to Tower, has to go to Futaba. (at least it used to be that way) . That was sort of a hassle. But they did fix it.

I love Hobby People. So far. No questions, just e-mail them. Had a throttle servo on the x-term, they sent me one better. Diffs on the Mammoth. Sent those, no problem. There was something with the kids X-cell. Radio, maybe? Sometimes I can get it quicker and Tower is closer. Just don't have the selection Tower does though.

Karl keep posting on the G3.5. I'm wanting another flight sim, but my computer is 4 years old. Had the first one, but had to install a card.

I'm just hoping my card will deal well enough with it. System requirements state a 32MB video card as a minimum, I'll be running the minimum. Rolex said in another thread that the graphics can be altered to take out some of the background, should ease the workload for the card. Last I checked, UPS has it somwhere between here an Kansas.

I had the first one. Could cut off a lot of graphics on it and I had to. (first year with Windows '98) Think I added a 32mb card? Was good after that.

I want another real bad.
Might post up what I have and listen to the gurus.

Let me know how it goes with yours.

you could pick up a decent 256 mb graphics card real cheap on the bay or from somewhere like tigerdirect.com or newegg.com if you wanted to. I have a EVGA 512 mb 8600 GT superclocked, and the guy at the LHS doesn't have near the card I do and the graphics are amazing.

No problem Digger, it all applies to this. You have a 64MB shared video, not the kind of thing you want for a graphic heavy program. You need a dedicated video card to run this kind of sim, unless someone knows something I don't. (entirely possible)
