Hello people my torq head hearsink is completely snapped off, and I’m just wondering if there was any alternative head heatsinks that fit the torq 3.5 (21?) engine?
I’ve found one on eBay but it’s £30, wondering if any aftermarket ones might be found cheaper or second hand?
Thanks!

The torq .21 nitro is the exact same engine as the force .21.. I would look for those as they would be easier to find these days
Also look up the SH nitros they have the same bolt pattern as the torq. I was able to throw my torq .16 head on the SH .18 engine.

I've got an sh18 here so may see if that works- also came up against a problem fitting that engine into my camper last night, the new pull start case is too big and hits the rear bar that holds the bottom arm hinge pins in!!!! So I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and either buy ANOTHER pull start or buy a drill starter set up lmao 🤣 it never ends man!

How much of it does it hit? You could always shave down the retainer bar. A little so it doesn't hit..

Its at least 5mm the total thickness of the bar! The pullstart casing on the torq is the same size too tbh so I'm wondering if there's a slimline one I need... typical ain't it tho stoner mate haha 🤣

This is ture. On thing after another bud 🤣🤣. What if you change it to a threaded hing. Get rid of the bar all together.. use a flat head should bolt...

Or use a flat style nut

I'm not sure what can be done other thsn a slimmer pullstart or the drill start adapter, this uses a nut with the bar that goes into the back of the engine rather than a nut that sits over a bar that sticks out of the back of the engine... if that even makes sense haha

No not at all man 🤣. Take a picture. I'm sure we can figure something out. I wouldn't want anything but a pull start. Anything else you need more stuff. And if the drill or the starter dies. No more rc. Pull start only need igniter 👍👍👍

Yeah I agree bud the less to go wrong the better! I'll get it out a bit later and get some pics to show you Stoner mate, you're more likely to have a solution than me haha

Sounds like a plan bud..👍👍

@StonerRC365 So here is some pics showing that even if the engine is as far forward as it can go, the rear won't fit in there mate

Would a Traxxas pull start fit on that? They are a bit thinner. Sorry, haven't read through this whole thread yet.
The crank nut is about half the width of the one on my duratrax so I'm guessing it would be a thinner pull start but this one said it was for the sh18 engine specifically lol 😆

Ok so you really don't need much. So the brace between the hing pins. Does that have a piece that goes into the chassis on the bottom? Yea rite. Or it's just a piece that go hing to hing?

Hinge to hinge and secures to the bulkhead then the bulkhead is fixed to the chassis mate so can't really do without it! Funny thing is the sh18 is a listed upgrade for this model so in theory it should fit so thinking on I should have tried to get the dimensions of the original to check, which I'm now gonna try lol
Look how thick that flywheel is ,it appears that maybe you need a short crankshaft version engine!...🤔
The mad thing is mate, as I just said to stoner, the sh18 is listed as an upgrade for this car lol
