Description:
At 1 :40 PM Doppler radar is tracking a rotating severe thunderstorm 45 km southwest of devon moving northwards at 40 km/h. This a dangerous storm is likely producing very large hail and may produce a tornado over the next 30 minutes.
Instructions:
Be prepared to take shelter immediately in a basement or reinforced structure if a tornado develops. Get low and put as many walls between yourself and the storm as possible. Stay away from windows, doors and outside walls. If you are on the highway and cannot avoid the tornado, seek shelter in a ditch or ravine.

I agree with rolex here, deff the most logical thing to do. Only thing to make it safer is to hold about a 6 foot fishin rod in the other hand.

In case of a tornado, make sure you have a camera and film it coming toward you OUTSIDE!!

Hope it doesn't hit. We dont have tornadoes hardly ever, very rare. But like 5 years ago I saw 7 in the same day, was crazy. None of them hit any buildings though.

I did a little more research on it and got a new tip for your safety.
Buy a very large tarp, securely duct tape a corner to each wrist and each ankle and stand on the roof with feet and hands spread wide. Kind of like a big X.
Apparently you'll be carried to a safer area. Call us when you reach Kansas.

I'm pretty sure I sense sarcasm in all the replies other than the previous two. If not for humor, every day of our lives would be dismal and miserable no matter what was going on.

Sorry I don't find amusement in something that causes mass destruction and death, maybe it's because I live less than an hour away from the OP. Sorry for not playing, but when you have something like is pictured below looming in the distance, poop gets real, real fast, and it's not funny at all.

I've been through two of them in Texas and had a car totaled by baseball sized hail here in Tennessee, and while huddled in a closet with my dog and the lady across the hall, I still managed to keep a sense of humor about it to help her through the fear.
THAT'S what humor is about. Sorry if it offends you.

A little compassion never hurt anyone either, just saying. what is posted above is not a sense of humor, it is jokes directed at the OP that aren't funny IMO, they are distasteful and rude considering his circumstances. Hey thanks man, I appreciate that...
Aside from some heavy rain for a couple hours, and ten minutes of marble sized hail, it blew over pretty fast.

Yeah, we tend to poke fun at each other pretty often here, and rarely take into consideration what those remarks and comments are received as on the other end. It's all in friendship though right, yeah eh?

I don't mind the jest and horseplay. If that helps you guys get through the day.
But I think there actually are times and circumstances that need a small amount of restraint.

No harm here, but perhaps you'll be in line with a storm someday soon, and I'll get my opportunity to Laugh at you... Hahaha

Hey chasCS I'm glad you made it through the night, the weather wasn't that bad here in frog lake but the wind was heavy enough to push my 660 raptor across the road and into my Neibours front yard...my dog squire was still chained to it.....I got up at 6am to here him barking farther away than usual

The only tornados I was close to we're Black Friday in Edmonton.......my grandfather drove like a mad man when the road was plugged with traffic...he drove in the ditch east on the 16 until we got past all the traffic.

Then not too long ago a funnel cloud touched down in my Neibours field, when we check later that day it was like a big amimal had walked through his field.......big like blue whale big!

Were those clouds spinning or rolling?....I think rolling clouds are worse than spinning clouds, with spinning clouds you at least get a good idea where the touchdown is going to be....rolling clouds are harder to judge

Those were spinning, and we had the crazy wind for most of the night as well. I remember the rolling clouds that produced that tornado that tore up the pine lake campground, I was only 15 minutes away when that one touched down.

I was a storm spotter for many years. I've been within a half mile of a tornado in my car. The recorded radio report from sounded like sledgehammers were hitting the car as I decided to leave the area. Kansas gets quite few tornadoes every year as does Texas where I now live.
