Alright, so I've currently got a few year old Losi XXX-NT that I just recently starting ripping around with, and decided to upgrade my power. I bought an O.S. Max .18 motor and the thing RIPS! However, the car is a little bit old for the power it's getting and my diff won't stay tight etc. (I'm breaking parts of my drivetrain constantly). So, I devised a new plan. I'm considering buying an RC10gt2 kit and putting the Futaba electronics and .18 O.S. Max engine in it. What do you think? Too much power for the AE too or no? Just curious as it says to only put a .12 or .15 engine in them. Think I could do it or would I be right where I am now, blowing the tranny and diff apart every 30 seconds.

Thanks

did u break the new engine in. just wondering, it has nothing to do with your question but I'm just wondering

Yeah, it is broken in. It's got approximately 2/3 of a gallon of fuel through it. Once I actually looked at the directions for proper fuel/oxygen mixture it was a snap to get it running and broken in. The thing has way too much power though. Quarter throttle when the car is in solid running condition will flip the truck over backwards if I don't modulate the acceleration. Maybe I should just buy a monster truck and be done with it...haha

I've got a GT with an OS TZ.12 in it, and it's plenty of power. The TZ is rated about the same power-wise (give or take). If your diff is coming loose, either it's in backwards (yeah, I know that sounds goofy, but it could be a cause), or your diff nut is worn out.

Well when the diff gear got fried (melted) the radio was in the hands of the guy at my LHS. So...he put a new diff gear in etc, and he may have actually installed it backwards. How do I know which direction it goes in?

I have a RC10GT with a O.S. .18 CV-R and it has no Problems. It has tons of power so I changed the gearing on it to get more top end and I am still getting Plenty of get up and go. I have never had a problem with the drive train. Of course the engine only has about half a gallon through it. It might in the future but everytime I go to drive it, it runs great.

i had a rc10gt with the .18 in it as well. i would always destry wheel hexes untill i got some rpm wheels then it was all good.

you can never have to much power!
