Today was pretty pathetic. As soon as one RC started running good it broke. Most of the pics today came from mistakes rather than success'. Let's see sky blew a spur gear on his savage. My roommate could not rebuyild his pull start on his storm nor would his t-maxx run right.
Saving the best for last, me. Where to start, hmmm. Well my inferno ran flawlessly until... Remember this if you forget anything about this: do not make another jump after your rc tells you she's about to run out of fuel. She died in mid air and ended up landing squarely on he butt from about a 10' height. I sheared the rear chassis support turnbuckle and put a major bend in the rear drive shaft.
My savage, there's another story. The only bad part about running a savage high, like mine, is that it puts undue stress on the turnbuckles. Add to the slready weakened turnbuckles and you have a potential for disaster. A few jumps added into the mix and the just fixed turnbuckle breaks. The just fixed again turnbuckle survived another bash session but the one that had not been replaced did not. At that point I decided to throw in the towel for running today.
On the brighter side of the house, my T-Maxx ran flawlessly, though one of my buddies from work was driving so the potential for the master of disaster to destroy it was not there.
Also learned the hard way, runaway maxx is a bad thing. Always make usre your radio Transmitter and Receiver is powered on before you start your t-maxx fires up and takes off. If you didn't turn the receiver on no matter what you try it will not stop until it either runs out of fuel ot has a close encounter with a stationary object. In this case it was a close encounter with a chain link fence. It was pretty cool watching my roommate chasing after his t-maxx as it took off at WOT.
Enough BS click on any of the pics below for larger versions. Enjoy.
4 Wheel Steering...
Large quiver of broken trucks, the red T-Maxx still is unbroken.
One of the pics of my drive shaft.
Another pic of my bent drive shaft.
One of the time my turnbuckle broke.
What would this be without another pic of me marking my turf.
John's runaway t-maxx where it had a close encounter with the fence.
