Ok, I need some help here. Several months ago I put about $400 into hop-ups and replacements for my RS4-2. I've basically rebuilt everything, new HB shocks, new chassis, carbon fiber upper deck, MIP univ. all around, 2-speed, different gearing for the 2-speed, all new screws, os cv-r .15, lightened flywheel, etc.. the list goes on, on top of that I have almost enough spares to make another rs4-2. I drove it once since I rebuilt it. Well I recently purchased a savage .25 and have lost total interest in my rs4 or on-road for that matter. I would like to sell it on ebay but I don't think I would get more then $250 max for everything and I just dumped $400 into mostly hop-ups which are basically all brand-new, not including all the spares and new extras. Do you think I would be better off parting it all out and selling it on ebay -- part by part?

If your set on selling the car, I would restore the car back to original condition or as close to original as possible. Then sell the car and sell your hoppups. That's just my :2cents:

Scott.

Agreed. Trade your hop-ups in this forum for your savage needs.

I agree, sometimes the way to get the most is to sell your car stock and then sell the hop ups seperatly.

If you want to sell the hop-ups individually let me know. There's a few I still need to buy.

Exactly

Put the car back to stock.

Sell the car stock on Ebay

Sell the parts individualy on Ebay to get the most out of them, use the money you got from the hop ups and car to buy upgrades off the members here.

That's the best dollar for dollar you are going to get. If that's too much work just put the car stock sell it on eBay and trade off your hop ups here.

I kind of did that with my maxx. Probably wouldn't have gotten over $300 out of it as it sat. So I spent 4 hours tearing it all apart, cleaning everything with soap and water. Then I took clean pics of it and made a thread as long as my arm here with prices and links to pics.

Without the engine and electronics, I got just over $600 out of the thing. It was a 21 maxx with lots of aftermarket (I think the radio box was stock ;) ). I was just glad to see it go. The $600 I made went a long way to fixing up the savage to a great basher , buying a second little truck to fiddle with and a second back up engine for the savage. (yes, I'm like NASA, backup for my backup)

I'd go the route the others said. Clean it up, make it stock and sell off any extra parts you have in small groups of parts that work well with the other parts. That way, someone gets more than just an upgrade part. They get a whole section upgrade.

Worked best for me.

I'd do that

or

take everything apart and sell EVERY SINGLE part separately (even stock parts) the only problem with that is u lose money for shipping and ebeay fees (if u use ebay) if i was in this situation i'd do what everyone else says.
