Hey I'm not gonna get it anytime soon but I was wondering if The Adam drake editon XXX-NT was a kit or rtr.. if it's a kit what would be a good engine+radio for it??? I was thinkin the Mugen .12 but if you have any better suggestions I would be open to them.... I thought about this since I heard you guys havin' fun with them... Thanx

-Maxx

Drake is Kit only Version of XXX-NT.
There have been 6 Versions of XXX-NT normally atleast 3 types avaliable for over last year
1 Plain kit no engine or electronics DISCONTINUED 12-02

2. Plain kit with a .12 sp dynamite engine needs electronics Discontinued 12-02

3. Special eddition Team Built RTR this was a regular kit built buy Adam Drake or one of the TL Team drivers they came with a trinity pico race .12 and cost around 450 I saw a couple still floating last summer its mainly a collectors item though you will see them hit ebay occasionally. for aroun 450-550

4 RTR its a version built overseas that comes with a JR. XR 2 Radio and a mach .15 engine which is the replacement for the dynamite .12 The overseas built RTR as with all losi RTR cars are built overseas due to cost and are not made of the same high qaulity plasitc compound as the regular kits. All RTR parts are stamped with RTR on the part. You replace all broken parts with regular kits parts which come from california from TL head qauters.

5 ARTR almost ready to run its a rtr built overseas minus the Radio and electronics comes with mach .15
6 Adam Drake edition kit version most of the hop ups needs engine and electronics.

That is the complete line of XXX-NT made the Drake is the only way to go for serions R/C people now. When you get closer to this purchase we can talk motors at that time becuase I normally know where a few hot motor deals are. X

Kit Only

You will need a starter box, electrics (servos, TX, RX, Battery pak and failsafe) and engine.

I have the OS .15 CVR in it now, but, when this one goes I am going to put the Mugen MT .12 Bighead in it. I run the Mugen in the TC3 as well. Its a WICKED fast mill, especially for the price. Dont forget, its essentially a Rossi mill without the cost :)

I totaly agree with x the drake is the only way to go I just bought one and put a cheap cv-r .12 and a JR xr3i radio in it and I love it I drive it more than my maxx now. I still love my maxx but man the drake handles like a dream. I am sure the cv-r .12 doesn't have as much power as the mugen would but mine seems to have plenty of power with just the cv-r.

Thanx guys:banana:

as for radios I was thnkin of getting a multi car radio do you know of a relatively cheap FM 3 channel radio???? Thanx again

How about the Futuba 3bk 3-channel radio its not really cheap but it still is a NICE radio:jester:

so you have to use a starter box???? no pull start???? I don't mind the extra cost or nothin' but I just like pullstarts for some reason...

check out the jr xr3i radio I use one and love it. I got it for $165 radio,1standard servo, 1 high torque servo, 3 chanel reciever.

the mt-12 is Novarossi built, not Rossi. Rossi I believe is a whole different manufacturer. Not that it is important, just wanted to clear that up.Here is a link to buy the mt-12. The cheapest place I know. And Nitro Dan is a good guy. (he is owner of affordable nitro tech)

will it fit in the adam drake edition and does it haul a$$ or what and what about the rules

yes to all three. you will need a rear exhaust manifold though. they are pretty cheap. And it is a 3-port race legal engine.
is a here is a link to the manifold. Usually the rear exhaust engine have a little more h.p than the side exhaust. This engine is really fast. It is built by Novarossi, need I say more? Tell him I sent you.

whos him?

and will this whole project be a "you-know-what" to build or will it be all right and will the engine be too powerfull and uncontrollable or just right

how in gods way could i order this engine from a forum

will i need a pull start too like give me the whole list of stuff i need to fully have this engine operating

the affordable nitro tech forum is just a place where Nitro Dan's customers can hang out. Nitro Dan is the administrator of the forum and is also the guy who sells the engines and stuff. If you pm him he will take care of you. And I bought my xxx-nt as a rtr so I didn't build it but I have had it fully apart. It shouldn't be that hard. I built my rc10t from kit and I was like 14 then. And no it won't be too powerful, but then again when is there too much power? I am a h.p nut. That's why I got the novarossi TOP ct-12 in mine and the mt-12 is probably more powerful than mine.

sorry I missed part of your question if you grt the mt-12 you will need a starter box and manifold. The starter box w/ battery will run you about another $100. If you don't want to have to purchase a starter box or manifold check out the TOP ct-12. You won't need to buy the other manifold or the starter box because it is a pullstart and the manifold that comes w/ the drahe will work. and it is legal for your racing. It is also the engine I have. I got it for free in one of Nitro Dan's contest. clickhere to check it out.

a .15 is larger than a .12 (but not necesarily more powerful) .15 is not usually legal for sanctioned racing. The ct-12 is made by novarossi and is available w/ or w/o a pullstart.
