Tire softeners allowed but no PARAGON.

I was reading the rules that apply to my home area track and they have a rule that says tire softeners are allowed but no
PARAGON. Now, the only PARAGON that I know of is a teflon based lubricant suspended in alcohol (PARAGON ULTRALON). Once applied the alcohol evaporates and leaves a dry teflon film. Is this the same stuff they're talking about and if so, how would this help the tires ?

By Paragon, they probably mean Paragon brand tire compound/softner.

Paragon makes two of the most popular, "ground effects" and "ground FX2" traction compound.

Why you can't use it? Who knows?

geez just goes to show you learn something new every day, I have never even heard of the stuff props to Wardo on that one.

Paragon is a brand name...the stuff smells like wintergreen, and is used for foam tires...a track that used to be in Hampton wouldn't allow it either (environmental or some crap). Anyway, we used WD-40 on the tires. It would react with the rubber (foam) and soften and make them sticky. It's a really cheap alternative to Paragon.
