Any information on easy(er) ways to get the female shock shaft off of my pivot ball"
Thanks

The title says half shafts and the first post says female shock shafts. What exactly are we dealing with, a pic would really help.

If your wanting to get ball cups off of shock shafts, wrap a shaft with a towel and grab it with pliers. Un-thread the ball cup. Some pictures of whatever half shaft your talking about would be handy. There's plenty of different kinds.

i think he means the driveshafts and those stupid pivot cross ball things traxxas uses.

they are a PITA for sure. traxxas has a "tool" for them, and its basically a flat piece of metal with a small notch in it. you can google the tool and possibly make your own. the shafts are cheep, just buy a set already put together and save your fingertips, curse words, and blood pressure medicine.

these guys right?

+1 on buying them put together. But you do get used to assembling them. Practice makes perfect!:) I've had a few blood blisters from those shafts. I don't have much of a problem with them now. I just start one side and push the knuckle together on a nice, sturdy table or bench. Line it up and push HARD.

Woohoo my first hobby blood blister, got 2 apart lol. I would buy them together already but I need to replace the stock 4-tec female shafts and get extended ones for the rally conversion I'm about to start on.

Thanks guys :)

For years, I looked for a turn buckle that that tool fit.:) It wasn't until my buddy bought an old E Maxx that I was finally enlightened. It came with the manual, so I flipped through it out of curiosity and came across the list of tools. "OH! That's what that's for!" 15 year mystery solved.:hehe:
